Today is Mike’s 46th birthday and the kids and I want to raise money for a beloved organization: The Lucas County Pit Crew! Our goal is to have 46+ friends and family members donate to support Jean Keating (director) and all the volunteers who work tirelessly to help pit bulls find forever homes. This is the organization we adopted our girl, Phoebe from ten years ago. Help support us in Mike’s honor today.

Today is a BIG day for me. It’s been 15+ years in the making. Raising kids, assisting in the care of an ill parent, and finding the desire again to go back to school have all played a part in this big delay. But today is the day and I’m so excited about this!! One more box is checked ✔️ from my list.

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of events. Vacations, home improvement projects, reorganization projects, riding lessons, summer tutoring, hockey conditioning, ice time, and family time! Whew!
So here it is, July 18 and I can’t believe how fast summer flies by every year.
Scrolling through my pics this morning I found this beautiful sunset. It reminds me to stop and enjoy the beauty of each day. Live for today and stop obsessing over next week. I feel like a bad mom at times when I don’t have the answer to “what’s going on this week for you and the kids?” But, that just means I’m taking things day by day. I’ve lived in the fast lane far too long and I’m ok with slowing my mind down a bit.

Shout out to Oregon School Resource Officers Shaw, O’Connor, Costanzo and T. Moore, who helped make Safety Town 2022 a success! O.P.D. also thanks Deb Kowalski, Julie Taylor and Sarah Kookoothe for their dedication to the program. Thank you for teaching our children to be aware of their surroundings and coaching them regarding safety.
