This one really gets me. When Hannah first came to me she had SO MANY layers of pain, inflammation and imbalance within her body. Both physically and emotionally.

My 35+ ladies! I feel you. I hear you. I know it’s hard.

I’m here for you. Those symptoms that creeped in overnight even though you didn’t change anything about your lifestyle…. WTF, right???

So then you’re online searching for the best supplements for perimenopause when what you really need to be doing in looking at the ecosystem of your gut and the health of your liver - where your s*x hormones (progesterone, estrogen and testosterone) are made into their active forms.

Basic lab work your doctor runs is not going to help you here. Sorry. You need a functional practitioner who knows how to connect the dots between gut ecosystem, liver stagnation, metabolic function and inflammation levels. Not a recommendation for an anti anxiety med or some birth control and to be told this is a “normal part of aging.” Rude.

My kids have been having a blast at Spring Creek Athletics summer camp. By Thursday morning they need a little extra time to sleep in.

So instead of our regular routine of get up and out the door to the gym (Redefined Fitness LLC) I have been getting in dumbbell and body weight workouts in in the garage.

The change of pace has actually been quite nice. A slower morning. Listening to and watching the birds from the garage while@I get in a quick warm up.(Somehow I’ve become obsessed with the birds lately. Not sure what that’s about.)

Yeah, the workout is shorter.
Yeah, I don’t have anywhere near the amount of equipment the gym has.

But ya know…. Sometimes slowing down instead of pushing hard 24/7 is what you need to gain some perspective, ground yourself and balance your nervous system when you feel like everything has been going 100 miles a minute for far too long.

I did this workout, including warm up and a little hip stretch at the end in 30 minutes:

10 rounds
12 DB thrusters
20 mountain climbers

Then….

3 rounds
10 V ups
10 hammer curls
