Northern Elderberry syrups are available in our online wellness boutique. We are Lori and Karla, owners of Northern Elderberry.
We are a mother and daughter team of elderberry makers, aiming to live a healthy and Godly life. We're happy to share our generational elderberry elixir with you and your family. We live in, and forage the forests of, Northern Lower Michigan. Our interests have always been natural, healthy living and sharing wellness with others. With my nursing background, and our herbal knowledge we make our families elderberry syrup recipe in small batches. We are licensed by Michigan's Dept. of Agriculture and registered with the FDA. Our family comes from a long line of health conscious people. My great-grandma taught me how to use herbs to heal our bodies. My grandpa (Karla's great grandpa) was a beekeeper near Detroit, Michigan. He kept care of the hives and grandma would help him in the honey house. I never saw them extract the sweet, gooey honey from the frames and honeycombs. However, I do remember my grandma washing, filling and labeling the jars. There were times I'd sit with them at farmers markets and fairs while they sold honey. They would occasionally bring me with them to different health food stores to replenish stock. This was before health food stores were popular. The first time Karla and I set up a table at the farmers market, I remembered my grandparents and their honey. I got emotional thinking about how bringing holistic, healthy foods and herbs to the community was a generational tradition. They had thick, golden, nectar from the beehives. We have rich, dark juice of the elderberry turned into a scrumptious syrup. It's an honor to bring you quality natural foods from the earth while supporting you to lead a healthy lifestyle.

After ten years of making products and serving this wonderful community, I have made the difficult decision to close Northern Elderberry.
John and I are ready to retire, spend more time with our family, and travel throughout the southern states this winter. While I am looking forward to this next chapter, saying goodbye to Northern Elderberry and all of you is bittersweet. 😀😢
Before we close, our remaining inventory is available at special closing-sale prices. If you rely on our products during the winter months, I encourage you to purchase enough to last through the season.

How are you doing with all this smoke?
The yellow sky, the smell of smoke, burning eyes, scratchy throats, and coughing have made for a rough few days here in Michigan. ❤️
If you're able, stay indoors, keep your windows closed, drink plenty of water, and take it easy until the air improves.
I'm also curious... does anyone else feel like this is bringing back a little COVID déjà vu? Being told to limit time outdoors, staying inside more than you'd like, and constantly checking the air quality feels strangely familiar.
I'd love to hear how you're doing.

Healthy people everywhere have stopped sneaking snacks.
We've spent years eating kale, elderberries, and vegetables.
Now we're finding out that the recent explosive diarrhea wasn't caused by the chocolate cake we secretly inhaled in the pantry.
🍪Justice for cookies.
🍧Justice for ice cream.
🍡Justice for candy & potato chips.
They've been taking the blame for years.
Today... we eat our junk food in the open.
🔸No shame.

🔸No hiding.
Just don't forget to wash your produce first. 😂🍪🍫

Stay inside and protect your lungs.
Northern Michigan has some of the worst air quality on earth right now thanks to wildfires ongoing to our west in Minnesota, and north in Canada.
