Each different soap is a completely different recipe. All colors are herbs, clays & minerals.

Ive been getting lots of inquiries about kojic acid in soap. I don’t put kojic acid in soap, and there’s a good formulation reason.

True soap is naturally alkaline, typically around pH 9–10. Kojic acid is much better suited to an acidic environment and can be unstable in alkaline conditions. It is also sensitive to heat, light, and oxidation. That means the high-pH, heat-intensive soapmaking process can compromise the ingredient before the bar ever reaches your skin.

Even if some kojic acid remains, soap is a rinse-off product. It is on your skin briefly, then washed away. The combination of potential degradation, high pH, and short contact time makes soap a poor delivery system for kojic acid. Adding it may sound appealing on a label, but it does not automatically make the product an effective kojic acid treatment.

A lower-pH leave-on product is a much more appropriate format. It can be formulated within a range that better supports kojic acid’s stability, protected from unnecessary heat, light, and oxidation, and left on the skin long enough to provide meaningful contact. That does not guarantee results. Formulation, packaging, concentration, and individual skin response still matter, but it gives the ingredient a far better chance to perform as intended.

If I’m going to use kojic acid, I’d rather put it in a properly formulated, lower-pH leave-on product than add it to alkaline soap simply for the marketing appeal.

Sometimes what I don’t put in a product is just as important as what I do.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of longtime vendor Adela Durazo of Durazo's Poco Loco Specialty Salsas.
Adela was with Heirloom Farmers Markets from the very beginning and was a beloved pillar of our vendor community. Her delicious salsas, charisma, and kindness were always on full display at the markets. She touched so many people over the years, and we will miss her dearly.

We invite our market community to join us in remembering and celebrating Adela at a memorial table on the following dates:

Sunday 9/6 — Rillito Park Farmers Market
Saturday 9/12 — Oro Valley Farmers Market
Sunday 9/13 — Rillito Park Farmers Market

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Adela’s family, friends, and all those in our community who knew and loved her.

Sonoran Mermaid. A treatment serum made with seaweed gel, hyaluronic acid and ceramide complex.

Irish Moss (gracilaria spp) is an excellent source of nutrients that’s loaded with Potassium, Calcium, Iodine and Natural Vitamins A, B, C, D, E & K. 90 of the 102 natural minerals that the body needs. Great for hair, skin, and immune system.

Hyaluronic acid draws water into the cells, minimizes the appearance of deep wrinkles, reduces the appearance of age spots and boosts hyaluronic acid production in the skin.
The hyaluronic acid in this product is limited, meaning it cannot draw more water into the cells than the cells can accommodate, meaning no damage will be done to cells / skin.

Ceramide restores the protective barrier function of the skin and enhances exchange of skin lipids. Identical to lipids found in skin, this has been concentrated into a system to provide enhanced skin moisturization and protection.
