One of my favorite things about working with student athletes?
They still believe their body is supposed to feel good. 🙌
I worked with a new student athlete today who had been dealing with pain and restriction for about a year.
As we talked about how the body can hold tension, guard movement, and create protective patterns after pain or injury, she GOT it.
Throughout her sports massage session, we were able to create noticeable changes in the pain and restriction she had been experiencing.
But the moment that stood out most?
Her dad was sitting in on the session, and I could almost see it click:
Just because pain has been there for a long time doesn’t mean it should be accepted as normal.
Pain can be information.
Guarding can be protection.
Restriction can be your body adapting to what it has experienced.
Sometimes the goal isn’t to fight the body harder.
It’s to understand what it’s communicating and help create an environment where it feels safe enough to move differently.
That’s why I love working with student athletes.
They want to improve.
They expect their bodies to perform.
They’re willing to learn.
And they haven’t spent decades convincing themselves that pain is simply something they have to live with.
Because long-standing does not automatically mean permanent.
My work with athletes isn’t just about what happens on the massage table.
I want them to understand their body, improve movement and mobility, recover intentionally, and keep doing what they love.
Parents, if your athlete keeps mentioning the same pain, tightness, restriction, or movement limitation, don’t automatically assume it’s “just part of playing sports.”
There may be more we can do.

DM me ATHLETE to learn about working with me through my Athlete Ambassador program.
There are only a few things that rank above my coffee… and God is definitely at the top. ☕️🙌
But if you’re one of my Athlete Ambassadors? I’ll put the cup down in a heartbeat.
Because the Ambassador Program was built to give committed athletes something more than appointments.
It gives you access.
Priority booking.
Same-day availability when possible.
Exclusive Saturday appointment access.
Because high-level training deserves high-level recovery support.
You shouldn’t be scrambling for an opening when your body is telling you it needs attention.
My Athlete Ambassadors get more direct, convenient access to my care so we can respond faster, stay ahead of problems, and keep your recovery aligned with your performance goals.
So yes… coffee is important. 😂
But when one of my Ambassadors needs me…. They are Priority!
Tyler, TX athletes…
if you’re ready for recovery support that moves as fast as your training does, DM me “AMBASSADOR” to see if the Athlete Ambassador Program is a fit for you.

I’m so grateful for the patience, flexibility, and compassion you’ve shown me this past week.
Due to an unexpected medical emergency involving my son, I needed to step away from the office so I could be fully present with him during his emergent care. Thank you for giving me the space to do exactly that without having to worry about anything beyond my family.
To every client who had an appointment affected: on Monday, I will personally reach out to anyone who was scheduled last week and has not yet been rescheduled so we can get you back on the calendar.
And to the clients, friends, and members of this community who have reached out personally, checked on us, prayed for my son, and continued to cover our family in prayer, THANK YOU!💕🫶🏼
Your support has meant more than I can adequately express. We are still believing and praying for complete healing and restoration.
I’m incredibly thankful for the people who make up the RPM Therapy community, and I’m looking forward to getting back into the office and taking care of my RPM clients again.
Thank you for allowing me to be a mom when my son needed me most. 🖤
With gratitude,
Lynda | RPM Therapy
You know it’s been too long since your last massage when you hit the table and let out a sigh so deep it sounds like your nervous system just submitted its two weeks’ notice. 😮💨😂
Meanwhile you’re telling me:
“I feel pretty good.”
Your body:
Absolutely not.
Because once you’re on the table, I’m listening to all of it.
The twitching.
The resistance.
The breath holding.
The random guarding.
The dramatic sighs.
The groans.
And that one muscle that acts like I uncovered classified information. 👀
Athletes are really good at pushing through.
You’ll run, lift, compete, train through soreness, ignore the tight hip, pretend the shoulder is “just a little stiff” and then act surprised when your body has a full PowerPoint presentation ready for me. 😂
That’s why I don’t only listen to what you tell me during intake.
I listen to what your body tells me on the table.
Because you might say you’re fine…
but your body does not care about protecting your reputation.
If your recovery routine currently consists of stretching twice, foam rolling for 37 seconds and hoping for the best…
we should probably talk.
Tyler, Tx Athletes….
DM me RECOVERY and let’s get you back on the table before your body starts sending strongly worded emails.
Massage therapy isn’t my only skill set…
Apparently I also run a small Hollywood production studio every time I set up the lights and camera to make content for y’all. 😂
But there’s a reason I prioritize getting on camera and talking about this.
As an athlete, veteran, mom, wife, business owner, and someone who asks a lot from her body, I’ve learned that taking care of yourself has to go deeper than just eating well and working out.
And no… a hot bath, w**e and chocolate doesn’t count as the whole recovery plan either. 😂
Your body needs quality sleep.
Stress management.
Emotional regulation.
Intentional recovery.
And yes… consistent massage therapy.
Because your body doesn’t separate your training stress from your work stress, relationship stress, parenting stress, or everything else life throws at you.
It carries all of it.
I’ve watched athletes come in weekly simply because they wanted better recovery…
and then notice changes in their energy, mood, stress levels, sleep, patience, focus and how they show up in everyday life.
Their training improves.
But so does their work.
Their relationships.
Their family life.
Their overall capacity.
Because your body doesn’t stop being your body when training is over.
The same body and mind carrying you through workouts, practices and competitions is carrying you through the rest of your life too.
That’s why I keep creating this content.
I want athletes to understand that massage isn’t just something you book when something hurts.
It can become part of how you consistently take care of the body you’re asking so much from.
You might come in for recovery…
and realize you’re showing up better everywhere else too.
It’s not just massage.
It’s not just recovery care.
It’s life care.
When you feel good, you show up better!
If you’re an athlete in Tyler, TX and you’re ready to make recovery part of your training strategy instead of waiting until your body forces you to stop, DM me RECOVERY.

For the athletes who showed up for the HYROX Sim hosted by F45 TRAINING LEGACY TRAIL this weekend…
you pushed, tested yourself, and got a real look at where your body is right now.
Now it’s time to recover like that effort mattered.
And if you didn’t compete in the Sim, but you’re an athlete who pushed your body to its limits this weekend, this is for you too.
Don’t start this week’s training already in a deficit. Recover well so you can stack progress on progress.
I have limited Monday + Tuesday availability.
DM me to book your recovery session.
Stretching is good.
Foam rolling is good.
Chiropractic care is good.
Mobility work is good.
But good doesn’t always mean right for what YOUR body needs right now.
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to recovery.
Sometimes the answer isn’t doing more of the same thing harder or more often. Sometimes you need a different approach and all of these tools can work incredibly well together when they’re being used for the right reason.
So if you’ve stretched it, rolled it, adjusted it, rested it… and that same tightness, restriction, or discomfort keeps showing back up?
🎵 It’s my turn now. 😏
And I don’t mean just “go get a massage.”
Find a massage therapist who understands your sport, how your body moves, the demands you place on it, and the results you’re trying to achieve.
Because your recovery should be just as specific as your training.
If you’ve tried all the things and you’re still not getting the result you want, it may be time to try something different.
DM me RECOVERY and let’s talk about what your body actually needs.
I put my body to work every day.
I train it.
I run with it.
I lift with it.
And then I turn around and use it to take care of other people’s bodies.
So when I tell athletes that consistency in recovery matters, I’m not just saying it as a massage therapist.
I live it.
Because a body that is constantly being asked to GIVE without enough opportunity to recover eventually starts operating in a deficit.
And you can’t keep demanding more strength, more speed, more endurance, better movement and bigger PRs from a body that never gets the chance to catch up.
When my body starts feeling heavy, tight, sluggish or like it just isn’t performing the way I know it can…
I already know what’s probably missing.
Recovery.
So I prioritize it.
Not because I’m hurt.
Not because I can’t train.
Because I want to KEEP training at a high level.
Athletes, your training program may not need more work.
It may need the piece that allows all that work to actually pay off.
Train hard. Recover intentionally. Perform better.
If recovery is the missing piece in your training regimen, let’s change that.

RPM Therapy | Recovery & Performance Massage
3 things I wish every athlete knew about massage:
1️⃣ It should help you move better, not just feel good for a day.
Think better range of motion, fewer restrictions, and less compensation during training.
2️⃣ When you recover matters just as much as how you recover.
The best time for massage depends on where you are in your training cycle, competition schedule, and what your body is being asked to do next.
3️⃣ Your recovery should match your sport, your training, and your goals.
A runner, CrossFit athlete, powerlifter, and fighter don’t use their bodies the same way, so their recovery shouldn’t look the same either.
Because if you’re chasing more mobility, a faster recovery, a PR, podium, or simply the ability to keep training consistently…
your massage should be working toward that too.
If you are an athlete in the Tyler, TX or surrounding area DM “Next Level”and let’s discuss how massage can get you there!
Recover Faster. Perform Better.
Feeling better on the table is great.
But I’m paying attention to what happens when you get OFF of it.
Can you stand up easier?
Walk with less hesitation?
Move with more freedom?
Do you notice less guarding, less discomfort, more confidence in your body?
Today, a client who normally struggles to walk comfortably down my hallway stood up, walked to the front of the office with ease, then turned around almost shocked by what his body was able to do.
Those are the wins I’m after.
At RPM Therapy, massage isn’t just about chasing the spot that hurts.
It’s about understanding what your body is doing, why it may be protecting or compensating, and choosing the work that helps create better movement.
Because the real result isn’t how you feel for the hour you’re on my table.
It’s what your body is able to do when you leave it.
Recover Faster. Perform Better.
