My expertise is deep tissue, but I am also trained in many other modalities. If you like deeper, more firm massage and more specific work you are in the right place. Deep tissue does not mean only having a harder pressure, in fact, means understanding the musculoskeletal anatomy and applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of the muscles and connective tissues. It’s a more specific work in which can treat muscle pain and improve stiffness. I am also trained in cupping and scraping. Moreover, I believe that the body should be treated as a whole, therefore I like to incorporate a touch of relaxation and energy work into my sessions.

I truly believed I could work less when moving to Texas. People think living here is so much cheaper. Well, selling a house in California or buying a Texas home with a California salary is more affordable. However, it was not my case. Everything here is the same price as when I left California -I know it is more now there - But I am not making what I was making there. I came to Texas knowing I would not pay rent (I will tell that story later), and I could save up in my head. I was unsure I would get into the Nursing Program, so  I decided to do the Nurse Assistant Program to start working at the hospital. I am so glad I did it, but on the other hand, I stopped putting energy into building my massage clientele where I can work less and make more money. Therefore, I put myself into working over 45 hours a week, earning less than when I moved here. And not forgetting that back in California, I worked about 30 hours weekly and went to school full time, but somehow I still found time for self-care. So, GETTING SICK now was a lifesaver for me. My body and mind need to rest before starting the program in the fall. I will go into more details later. 

Eu realmente acreditava que poderia trabalhar menos quando me mudasse para o Texas. As pessoas acham que morar aqui é muito mais barato. Bem, vender uma casa na Califórnia ou comprar uma casa no Texas com um salário na Califórnia é mais acessível. No entanto, não era meu caso. Tudo aqui é o mesmo preço de quando saí da Califórnia. Eu vim para o Texas sabendo que eu não pagaria aluguel (vou contar essa história mais tarde), e achava que iria poder economizar. Eu não tinha certeza se entraria no Programa de Enfermagem, então decidi fazer o Programa de Auxiliar de Enfermagem para começar a trabalhar no hospital. Estou tão feliz por ter feito isso, mas por outro lado, parei de colocar energia na construção da minha clientela de massagem onde posso trabalhar menos e ganhar mais dinheiro.

I’m grateful to have the life I have and to live where I do. I give up some things to have others. For instance, I live with my ex-husband (it’s not easy), so Lucas can have the two parents together, and we both can continuously be part of our son’s life. Also, together we can afford the rent at the property we live. We both value nature, and we want Lucas to have the opportunity to experience his childhood where animals and plants surround him.
