Two songs of mine now have standalone live recordings on the Sonoran Desert Center for Spiritual Living YouTube channel. And these two songs carry very different pieces of my heart.

Blossom and Grow is about the stories we share, the dreams we nurture in one another, and the courage and wisdom required to truly speak and truly listen. It honors the ancestors, mystics, teachers, and loved ones whose lives continue to water our roots.

Matter of the Heart was originally written during the Center’s 2021 Heart of the Matter telethon. It is about staying beside someone who is hurting—not with pity, judgment, or pressure to heal on our timetable, but with love that says, “You do not have to breathe through this alone.”

Both were performed live with Stephen Anthony on drums.

I’m deeply grateful that these songs have become part of this community’s history—and that they now get to travel beyond the room where they were sung.

I'd like to introduce you to someone very special to me.

This is my sister-in-law, Enic. ❤️🇻🇪

She was born and raised in Venezuela, and over the past several days she has been working tirelessly alongside the Tucson Venezuelan community to organize relief for families affected by the recent earthquakes.

For many of us, this may be another headline.

For Enic, it's home.

Watching her pour so much of herself into helping others has reminded me that compassion begins with people—not politics, not borders, just people helping people.

If you'd like to support these relief efforts, Enic recommends donating through Donar Seguro:

You can also hear directly from her in this news interview and learn more about the Tucson relief effort:

Thank you for helping us spread hope. ❤️
