As a mom of 2 & expecting a 3rd, I give all praise to these items right here! The goal is not to remove stretch marks, which we know is nearly impossible, but to enhance the appearance of them. This means that they will appear smoother & more even with your skin tone rather than rigid & rough to the touch. As shown in the photo, my stretch marks are visible, but here’s the catch: they’re smooth to the touch, so they don’t feel as rigid. A major confidence booster right!

So let’s kill the narrative of “I hate my stretch marks” & embrace them, as they are now a permanent part of our bodies, & hopefully by using these products you will begin to love them🫶🏾

This doesn’t relate to locs 100% but it’s pretty close because it’s about patience..

So I just became a plant mom, I’ve got a few plants that I’m trying to grow & YALL I AM SKRESSEDDDD😂 They say practice what you preach, so I should be telling myself “trust the process” like I tell yall to do when you’re starting a loc journey, but I am all over the place, overthinking everything like “is my plant growing right? Do I need to move it from here to there? Why is the stem looking like that? Can I spray it with water? What type of fertilizer do I need?” If you’re a plant parent please help me🤣🤣 Drop some sites or links that helped you in the beginning of your planting journey, thanks so much in advance💞

If your loctician doesn’t shampoo your locs before retwisting them, you need a new one🥲

If your loctician makes you come washed but charges you over $70, you need a new one🥹

If your loctician retwists your locs every 2-3 weeks & tells you that’s okay, you DEFINITELY need a new one😭

Why? Because:
1) You should NEVER apply product to your locs if you have not washed out previously used products, especially when retwisting. Sweat, debris, dust, & other ailments are packed on our scalp & easily get trapped in our coils, so it is essential to clean your locs before retwisting them, with or without product.
2) We live in a world of lazy stylists, if your stylist is charging you $70+ then make them work for it! Why should you have to wash your own hair, isn’t that what a hairstylist is for? & being an at home stylist is no excuse, portable shampoo bowls are available for those who don’t want to wash in kitchen sinks.
3) Retwisting your locs every 2-4 weeks stuns the growth & weakens the foundation, so your locs will never be as thick & full as you may like because you don’t give them time to grow & flourish. New growth is important because it is what helps locs fill out, so it is not necessary to retwist every inch of new growth. Let them be nappy a bit; if you don’t like nappy hair then you don’t need locs.

We’ve actually done another retwist since 2025, I just can’t find the last photo but I’ll surely get one at our next appointment!

We all want our locs to look like the photo on the right as soon as we start them, but we have to understand that patience is key. Yes, instant locking is an option if you’re someone who doesn’t want to wait for your hair to lock, however it’s important to keep in mind that over manipulation can lead to issues in the future. This client allowed her hair to do its thing, resulting in a nice full foundation a year later. She doesn’t get a style every time she gets a retwist, & she doesn’t retwist every 4 weeks, which we all know is NOT a good idea because it will make your foundation weak overtime, & will also interfere with the budding process. Leave your locs alone, they know what to do🫶🏾
