Least week I shared a blog post and a live call with my Internal Capacity Collective about how I had returned to a meditation practice I had thought was lost to me.
It all started with a conversation about how the brain loves repetition, and how helpful it is the meditate daily.
Meditation is also something that many of us find hard to stick with. There are many You Tube channels and Apps out there. Each one offering a different process. At times it can feel@like nothing is really happening so we gradually drift away from the practice. The brain de-prioritizes it over more eventful activities.
So, when I came across a book by Emily Fletcher, on a mantra meditation process she has created that also presents the science behind it, I ignored it completely! Yep. Jaded much?!
Then, I saw the book again about a month later, and this time I picked it up. I read a bit and jumped to the meditation. And, not surprisingly, it was really good. I’ve been meditating all of my life, so I don’t expect to find anything new. However, I did find what I needed to return to the practice.
I never stopped meditating but I had lost my mojo. I couldn’t settle on a process. Mantra meditation focuses my mind and I enjoy it. Now, with Emily’s guidance I am enjoying it again, and sharing it with my community.
As Emily says, we don’t meditate to get better at meditating. We meditate to get better at life. So true!
If you’ve been looking for a better explanation of what happens in the body when we meditate or what the health benefits are, I highly recommend Emily’s book. Also, the body awareness and manifestation process she adds to it is magic. What’s great combination.

When you are feeling tired, overwhelmed, or stressed, one of the best ways to create positive change is to surround yourself with living, growing things.
Plants, animals, trees, grass…
Don’t overthink it. Just let yourself be present.

Your nervous system doesn't grow through perfect performance. It grows through safe, repeated experiences that show your brain and body what is possible.
Every small step matters.
Every imperfect attempt teaches.
Every time you keep going, you build capacity.
Stop waiting until you have it all figured out. Start where you are, practice consistently, and let progress become your proof.
✨ Progress creates capacity. Perfection keeps you waiting.

Looking for an opportunity to feel seen, supported and empowered? This is it. 😊
✨ Empowerment Circle ✨ Stronger Together
Join us this Saturday, July 18, at 10:00 a.m. Central at Anam Cara Counseling for a thoughtfully curated experience designed to nurture connection, reflection, and personal growth.
Each month's circle is centered around a unique theme. This month, we'll gather in the spirit of summer to pause, reconnect, and honor the season through grounding practices, meaningful conversation, guided journaling, time with the horses, and other reflective experiences.
We close each gathering in a closing circle where every woman is honored and witnessed—always with the freedom to participate as much or as little as feels right.
There is no pressure to share. You are welcome to simply be present—with yourself, the horses, and community.
Rooted in connection and belonging, this circle offers a safe space to reflect, grow, and remember that you don't have to walk your journey alone.
🐴 No horse experience is necessary.
💚 Suggested sliding-scale contribution: $25, $30, or $35. We want this experience to be accessible while supporting the continued offering of these gatherings.
Please register to reserve your spot athttps://givebutter.com/StrongWomenStrongHorses.
A minimum of 3 registrations is required to hold the event.
We would be honored to welcome you.

If you tend to isolate or withdraw under stress - you may be experiencing the power of your nervous system to keep you safe under threat.
But, what if the situation isn’t all that threatening?
The response is a learned habit that once served you well. If you no longer find it useful, you can learn a different response.
You can learn to connect with others, to receive what you needed all along. It may take some time and patience, but there is a path forward.
P.s. these two sweet little boys are brothers who were given up and then separated at 8 months old. When we brought them together they were scared, guarded and exhausted. Then the power of connection took over. Now they are happy, healthy, playful and loving. Works the same for humans!

I don’t know why I didn’t think to share this before! I’ve been on a low-histamine diet for several years now and this means no coffee. I LOVE coffee though. 😢I’ve found a few alternatives that I love, including the Dragon Drink from Starbucks. It’s fruit, coconut milk and 50mg of green tea caffeine extract.
So, while I can’t drink coffee I can still have a little fun pick-me-up. The benefit? For me, no more migraines - after 25 years. So worth it!
Histamine intolerance is just one of a number of imbalances that your genetics can reveal. I love doing this kind of lab in my practice. No more chasing intolerances. Instead I optimize function.
What symptoms are you chasing? Do you know what your body actually needs?
If this resonates, reply OPTIMIZE in the comments and I’ll share a free resource I created to help you start understanding and simplifying your nutritional needs.
If you are ready to shed some old thoughts, beliefs or energy you may want to join my friend Lulu Agan as she leads a sacred energy healing group in LaPorte on Tuesday, July 7th from 4-6pm.
Lulu is not only a friend she is a mentor and an amazing healer. She is only in town for this one event and it will be powerful. I’ve done several of these healing events with her and loved every one.
Space is limited so sign up now if you want to join. We only have room for 12 participants to create a personalized and intimate experience.
