Most people stop sprinting the day they leave organized sports. Here is why that is a mistake. And how to get started back into sprint training.

Sprinting is not just for athletes. It is one of the most direct ways to preserve fast-twitch muscle fibers, maintain lower-body power, and slow the rate of functional decline as you age. One to two sprint sessions per week is enough to make a real difference.

This workout is built for adults 30 to 65 who want to train speed and power without getting hurt. Rest fully between every sprint. Quality over volume.

Your hamstring is at its longest and working its hardest at the exact same moment during a sprint. That is where strains happen.

During the late swing phase of a sprint, the hamstring has to stretch to full length while simultaneously contracting to slow your leg down before your foot hits the ground. Think of a rubber band already stretched as far as it goes and then someone pulls both ends at once.

The good news: a low grade hamstring strain has a clear path back to full sprinting.

The route we use at Hercules:
Weeks 1 to 2: dry needling, manual therapy, and isometrics to calm pain and begin rebuilding strength without aggravating the tissue.
Weeks 3 to 4: eccentric loading and easy jogging as the tissue gets stronger and more resilient.
Weeks 5 to 6: graded sprint progressions from 50% effort up to full speed, cleared only when each step is pain free.

The best prevention is practicing moving fast regularly. The hamstring that sprints once or twice a week is never caught off guard.

97% better after months of pain.

This is what consistent work looks like. Not a miracle fix. Not a perfect program. Just the right approach done over and over until the body responds the way it is supposed to.

If you have been dealing with neck or back pain and cant get back to your sport, it might not be you. You need the Hercules PPT approach.

Your VO2 max is one of the strongest predictors of how long you will thrive. Here is how to train it.

Research is clear that VO2 max predicts lifespan more reliably than almost any other single marker. The good news: it responds to training at any age. Short, hard intervals with real rest between rounds are what move the needle. This session works on a bike or rower and takes about 30 minutes total.

Built for anyone who wants to train with a purpose, not just put in time.

Achilles pain. Knee tendon pain. That ache on the side of your hip that will not go away. Here is why it sticks around and what actually fixes it.

Tendons do not have great blood supply. They heal slowly, and the only signal that tells them to lay down stronger, more organized tissue is load. Not rest. Not stretching. Specifically, slow heavy loading through the right progressions.

The typical route: isometrics and dry needling for the first four to six weeks to reduce pain and start loading safely. Then heavy slow eccentric work to rebuild strength and stiffness in the tendon. Then sport specific movement to get it ready for whatever you actually need it to do.

Timeline is three to nine months depending on how long the pain has been there. The sooner you start, the shorter the road.

If your tendon has been bothering you for more than a month, do not wait longer. Book a discovery call with us through the link in bio. We will tell you exactly what is going on and build a plan around it.

Years of pain. Now 7 miles.

Two weeks ago it was 6 miles and 17 minutes faster than the month before. This week it is 7 miles with the piriformis completely silent and the knee no longer calling the shots. That is not a quick fix. That is months of consistent work paying off.

The goal was never just to make the pain stop. The goal was to make the body work the way it is supposed to.

This is what a well-built chronic low back pain session actually looks like.

Not five corrective exercises and a theraband. A real, progressive program that interrupts the pain cycle, builds stability, and gets you stronger over time. The walks are not a warm-up. They are part of the treatment.

Built for anyone dealing with chronic low back pain who is ready to stop guessing and start building.

This is not what traditional PT teaches. But the research is clear.
One specific exercise done the same way every day is not changing your pain. Your body adapts. The stimulus disappears. And you stay stuck.
150 minutes of general movement per week, done consistently and progressed over time, is what actually shifts the pain response. That is where we start.

Three months of shoulder pain. Gone.

Rows and pressing both feel good under load now. That is not just the pain going away. That is the shoulder doing what it is supposed to do when you actually ask something of it.

The goal was never just to make it stop hurting. The goal was to make it work.
