I’ve been spending a lot of time lately wondering who I am in this new season now that my girls are growing up and need me differently. Then I asked them to describe me as a mom, fully expecting to get roasted… and they sent me these. 😭
Maybe one of the strangest parts of raising kids is never really knowing how they experienced you until they’re old enough to tell you.
I’m keeping these forever. ❤️
Still choosing him. Still learning him. Still growing with him. 25 years later.
The goal was never to stay the same. It was to keep choosing each other as we changed.
Turns out “growing old together” also means growing into completely different versions of yourselves together. 🥹🖤
This season of my life feels different. For so many years, so much of my world naturally revolved around raising my girls, my marriage, our home and the life we were building together. And I loved it. I still do.
But somewhere along the way, my world started getting bigger again.
I’ve been traveling more. Staying places on my own. Going to events. Walking into rooms where I don’t know anyone. Saying yes to experiences I would’ve been too afraid to do before. And then coming home to the people I love.
Maybe that’s what this season is about. Not leaving behind the life you built, but finally realizing there’s room inside of it for you to keep building yourself, too. 🤎
