Back-to-school reminder: Think twice before buying light-up shoes.

It’s not just about them being distracting in class.

In the rare event of a school lockdown or emergency, children are taught to stay as quiet and hidden as possible. Shoes that light up with every step could make it harder for a child to stay concealed if they need to move.

The chances of this happening are thankfully very low. But just like wearing seat belts or practicing fire drills, it’s a simple precaution you hope never becomes necessary.

There are plenty of fun shoes that don’t light up.

Sometimes the safest choice isn’t the flashiest one.

Calling a C-section “the easy way out” will never make sense to me.

It’s major abdominal surgery.

You’re awake while doctors cut through layers of skin, muscle, and tissue to bring your baby into the world.

Then, just hours later, you’re expected to stand up and walk.

A few days later, you’re sent home with a newborn.

No break.

No time to recover.

Just sleepless nights, round-the-clock feedings, diaper changes, and learning how to care for a brand-new baby…

All while your body is trying to heal from major surgery.

And if you have other children?

They still need breakfast.

They still want your hugs.

They still need their mom.

A C-section isn’t the easy way out.

It’s birth.

It’s surgery.

It’s recovery.

It’s strength.

It’s sacrifice.

Every mother deserves respect, no matter how her baby entered the world.

Breast milk is better.
And that's a fact.

If you’ve ever had Pitocin… you already know.

Those contractions don’t ease you into labor.

They show up like they own the place.

One minute you’re smiling and talking between contractions…

The next, you’re gripping the bed rails, questioning every decision that led you there.

Pitocin contractions can hit hard and fast, and if it was part of your birth story, chances are you still remember every second of it.

when those contractions kick in… they’re a whole different level of intense. Moms who know… know.

If a bottle of Coke costs $5 at a zoo, amusement park, or other family attraction, that’s price gouging not “convenience.”

I paid $5 for one bottle of Coke, and that’s honestly ridiculous. Families are already paying for tickets, parking, and food. Charging premium prices for a basic drink just feels excessive.

I get that businesses need to make money, but at some point it starts feeling like they’re taking advantage of the fact that you have no other options.

Would you pay $5 for a bottle of Coke, or are these places charging way too much?

I paid $500 for a cleaner, only to come home to a sink full of dirty baby bottles.

$500… and washing the bottles wasn’t included?

Never again.

Do I love being a mom?
Yes.
Would I like to be left alone in a hotel room with snacks and zero responsibilities?
Also yes.

If your baby is out in public, they should have socks or shoes on.

I don’t care if they “kick them off.” Put them back on.

Tiny babies lose heat faster than adults, and bare feet aren’t always the best choice when you’re out. Keeping their feet covered is a simple habit that can help keep them comfortable.

Yes, there are exceptions, hot weather, being indoors, or when it’s appropriate to have bare feet. But making it a habit to leave the house with your baby’s feet covered just makes sense to me.

If I see a baby out without socks or shoes, my first thought is, “Where are their socks?”

Unpopular opinion? Maybe.

What’s your take?

Tips Every Pampers Parent Should Know

Did you know that the X, +, and O in the middle of some Pampers diapers actually mean something?

* X = The diaper is getting too small. It’s time to size up to help prevent leaks and blowouts.
* + = The diaper still fits, but you should start thinking about moving up to the next size.
* O = The diaper fits properly and is the right size for your baby.

Bonus tip: If you use Pampers diapers that combine day and night protection in one pack, here’s something I just realized.

The diaper with the elephant’s eyes closed and a moon in the corner is the nighttime diaper, while the one with the elephant’s eyes open and a sun in the corner is the daytime diaper.

I had no idea until now! Did you already know this?
