🔵Blue Light affects the uppermost layer of skin. It kills acne causing bacteria (P. acnes) by activating porphyrins. This is the same thing that happens to our acne when we’re exposed to the sun, but without the UV damage and inflammation.

🟢Green Light breaks down melanin clusters that cause hyperpigmentation. This helps to even skin complexion.

🟡Yellow Light helps with redness, wound healing, and promotes lymphatic drainage. This color is great for sunburns and Rosacea.

🔴Red Light stimulates the production of collagen in the skin for smoother, younger-looking skin. Among the colors listed, red LED light penetrates the deepest into our skin.

Both Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide are great skincare ingredients for treating acne, but there are some key differences.

Salicylic Acid is a BHA and is great at unclogging pores to clear white heads and black heads. It can exfoliate the skin and absorb the excess oil. It is usually best for acne grades 1 and 2.

Benzoyl Peroxide has antibacterial properties and does better at reducing acne causing bacteria. It is also anti-inflammatory which can be great for calming those deep painful acne lesions. It is typically best for acne grades 3 and 4.

There are so many great acne ingredients these are just 2 of my favorites. I also really like oxygen, enzymes, retinoids, AHAs, and ingredients that help repair the skin barrier.

Just a friendly reminder😊

Here are the results from my brigthening enzyme facial to treat hyperpigmentation. I used the Lemon Zest Enzyme on the left side of my face and the Pomegranate Enzyme on the right. I can't decide which side got better results, but I see a difference in both sides. Pay attention to the dark spots from left to right❤️

Wear your SPF everyday!

There are so many reasons to wear sunscreen. It prevents skin cancer, sunburns, the visible signs of aging, environmental damage, and inflammation of the skin.

The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends a sunscreen that is
•Broad spectrum (protects against UVA and UVB rays)
•30 SPF or higher
•Water-resistant

*make sure you use enough and reapply throughout the day
