Mimosa Farm
Mimosa Farm is home to a nearly 6,000 sq foot home on 8.3 acres at the base of the Blue Ridge!
🚨 PLEASE READ — NO TRESPASSING AT MIMOSA FARM 🚨
Effective immediately, Mimosa Farm is strictly private property, and access is by appointment or invitation ONLY.
If you are planning to visit the farm for ANY reason, you MUST contact us in advance so we can arrange access.
Gates and security cameras are being installed tomorrow at the farm entrance, and all activity is being monitored and recorded.
Unfortunately, this has become necessary due to an increasing number of unauthorized visitors and trespassers on our property—sometimes almost daily.
More concerning, I recently discovered sh***un shells deliberately left on the bumper of my vehicle in the middle of the night. Whether intended as intimidation or something else, I take the safety of my family, guests, and animals very seriously.
Let me be perfectly clear:
Curiosity is not an invitation. Disagreement is not permission. And private property is not a public attraction.
We have always welcomed people to Mimosa Farm, and those with legitimate reasons to visit will continue to be welcomed—with prior arrangements.
However, unauthorized entry onto our property will not be tolerated, and incidents may be reported to law enforcement.
I have spent years opening my home and sharing this beautiful property with our community. It’s unfortunate that protecting my family’s safety now requires gates, cameras, and public reminders about basic boundaries.
Please respect our property, our privacy, and our right to feel safe in our own home.
Thank you to everyone who continues to show us kindness and respect. ❤️

From the desk of Jill… poolside edition.
Today’s agenda:
✨ Design time for this weekend’s elopements — because tiny weddings still deserve BIG details.
👗 Buy an outfit for my daughter’s best friend’s wedding — and for once, I’M A GUEST. 😂
🧼 Finish deep-cleaning every appliance in this ridiculously large house because apparently this is how I spend retirement.
🧺 Two loads of laundry. Exactly two. I am setting boundaries.
✈️ Book tickets to Oklahoma to coordinate a wedding there. Mimosa Farm is going on the road!
🌴 And then book some FUN tickets somewhere warm because there needs to be at least one item on this list that involves absolutely no work.
All while sitting poolside, soaking up this gorgeous fall sunshine and pretending the laptop makes this leisure. 😂
Lots of moving pieces right now. Some exciting, some scary, some still very much TBD. But today feels like a good day to get a few of them moving in the right direction.
Now… where should I book the fun ticket to? ☀️🌴✈️

🐴 JOEY UPDATE! 🐴
Our boy has officially graduated from stall rest to…the goat pen! 🎓😂
This means Joey gets a little more freedom to move around, stretch his legs and enjoy being outside again — but still in a controlled space where we can keep a close eye on him.
And perhaps most importantly: ZERO access to the neighbors. 😂 No wandering off looking for snacks, no convincing anyone that he is starving, and absolutely no unauthorized treats.
His new accommodations are also right outside my suite window, which means Joey is now under approximately 24/7 surveillance. 👀(no really- camera surveillance too)
The real entertainment, however, is happening between Joey and Monica.
Apparently both of them believe they are management.
There have been some negotiations regarding who exactly is the alpha of the goat pen, and so far neither party seems particularly interested in stepping down. 😂 Phoebe is presumably just wondering why everyone has to make everything so dramatic.
For now, Joey is doing well, enjoying his little bit of newfound freedom, and continuing his weight-loss journey — much to his disappointment.
We’re taking it slow, following his care plan, and are just happy to see our sweet boy outside with his friends again. ❤️
One step closer, Joey. 🐴🐐❤️

We’ve been a little quiet around here this week. ❤️
Mainly because… Jilltember. 😂 And apparently turning 50 requires a little more processing time than I anticipated.
So thank you for your patience while I’ve slowed down, enjoyed my people, celebrated this milestone, and taken some time to digest all the crap that’s been thrown at the farm lately.
I’ve also spent a lot of this week reflecting.
On this place. On what we’ve built here. On what it has become to so many people. On how much energy it takes to continually defend something that was created with genuinely good intentions. And, probably most importantly, on what I want the next chapter of my life — and the next chapter of Mimosa Farm — to look like.
Turning 50 has a funny way of making you reevaluate where you spend your time, your energy and your peace.
I don’t have anything to announce today.
But I will say this: sometimes enough resistance doesn’t make you give up. It makes you stop, look at the bigger picture, and realize there may be an entirely different path forward.
More on that another day. 😉
For now, I keep coming back to what I love most about this place.
People gather here.
They come here to celebrate weddings, birthdays, babies and new beginnings. They come here when they need community. And sometimes, they come here when life has handed them the kind of loss that reminds all of us just how precious our time together really is.
Today we’ll use our space to celebrate the life of John Shipley — a man who meant so much to so many.
My heart hurts for my dear friend Sarah and everyone who loved John. But I’m incredibly grateful to have a home where the people who loved him can gather, tell stories, laugh, cry, eat, hug each other and celebrate a life that mattered.
“The hardest part of losing someone isn’t saying goodbye. It’s learning how to carry all that love when the person you gave it to is gone. So we gather, we remember, and we keep their stories alive.”
And maybe that’s the lesson I needed at 50.
Life is short. Love your people. Celebrate the good stuff. Show up for the hard stuff. And when you have a table big enough, pull up another chair. ❤️
Speaking of showing up for people…
🌼 WE HAVE MUMS! 🌼
We have 50 beautiful mums here at Mimosa Farm ready for pickup for a minimum $12 donation. For comparison, the same mum is $16 at Lowe’s — but these come with something a little better than a receipt.
100% of the proceeds benefit The Donation Station, a 501(c)(3) organization.
Every week, The Donation Station provides a meal and a support group for ANYONE who needs it. No questions asked.
Come with a heavy heart and leave with a light snack…
Okay, who are we kidding? 😂
You’re probably leaving with a completely full belly.
That’s community. And that’s something Mimosa Farm will always be proud to support.
A very special thank you to Henly Green of Greens Landscaping for providing the mums and bringing them all the way from Roanoke. We are so grateful for you and your generosity. 💛
So come grab a mum. Support a great cause. Check on your people. Hug somebody a little longer.
And thank you for giving me a week to turn 50, love on my people, reflect on what comes next, and remember exactly why this little farm has mattered so much to me. ❤️
The next chapter may look a little different, but it will always be Mimosa Farm.

Joey is getting better, losing weight and opting NOT to have a banana. But for those that are concerned about a dog attack, nah, he’s just fat!

Jilltember rolls on… and today, we’re taking this celebration on the road! 🍻🎉
Last night, we enjoyed a night out at The Junction Bar & Lounge in Staunton, and I’m so grateful to everyone who made it out to celebrate with me. Turning 50 is even more special when surrounded by such wonderful people! ❤️
I’m trading farm chores for a brewery/vineyard tour with some of my favorite people. Turning 50 deserves good company, lots of laughter, and a little chauffeured birthday behavior. 👑😂
A sweet thank-you to Valley Shuttle Services, LLC, the small business we proudly partner with for all our weddings at Mimosa Farm. Today, they’re helping take care of MY crew, and I’m so grateful! Supporting small businesses feels even better when they’re part of your story. ❤️
And a special thank-you to Mya at MEG Esthetics for my lipid-firming facial. A little birthday self-care was exactly what I needed! ✨
My heart is full, my people are here, and the birthday girl is ready to toast to her next chapter. Cheers to 50—and to making time to celebrate me! 🥂✨

Look at max! Doing some therapy dog work! Oh, and he got runner up in the Mr. Waynesboro dog contest! 🐶 🐾 🐶

It’s Mya’s birthday! She keeps our guests glowing and is the calmness behind the scene. She teaches me everyday how to let it roll off my back.
From the desk of Jill 💕
It’s Mya’s birthday!!!!! 🎉🥂
She’s the calm face of the business—so yes, we balance each other out. 😂 She takes so much pride in helping everyone feel beautiful and Maximizing Everyone’s Glow. Bet you didn’t know that’s what M.E.G. stands for in MEG Esthetics! ✨
Beyond the treatment room, she works hard, pours so much love into Sofia, and somehow still finds time to take care of the rest of us. I’m one proud mama. 💕
She’s working today, but there’s a little self-care on her schedule, too—because the girl behind everyone else’s glow deserves some of her own!
If you have a second, help me wish Mya a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🎂🎉
Tonight, Waynesboro City Council voted 4–1 to defer consideration of Mimosa Farm’s CUP application until January.
I requested this additional time because I believe there is reasonable middle ground to be found. I am prepared to substantially reduce the scope of the proposal, strengthen its operating conditions and continue addressing concerns involving sound, traffic, parking, hours and event frequency.
Between now and January, Mimosa Farm will continue operating as a short-term rental accommodating up to 20 registered overnight guests. The property will also continue to be used for the same lawful personal activities that members of the general public may enjoy on their own private property. There are no paid events scheduled during this period that require the CUP under consideration.
Tonight’s vote is not an approval or a denial. It provides time to develop a more balanced proposal that respects the neighborhood while allowing Mimosa Farm to continue operating responsibly.
I remain committed to working through the process in good faith. In the meantime, Mimosa Farm remains open, operating and moving forward.

I’m excited to welcome another busy weekend here at Mimosa Farm—and then we’re closing for a whole week while I welcome my family and friends to celebrate my 50th birthday! 🥳🥂
I’m incredibly grateful to own this little piece of paradise right here in the city—a home big enough to comfortably welcome up to 20 of the people I love most, just as it has welcomed more than 1,200 guests from all over the world during the past six years.
Next week, the only “event” on the schedule is Jilltember: The 50th Birthday Edition—and fortunately, no special permission is required to fill your own home with family, friends, laughter, music and birthday cake. 😉
Life is good. The ch*****ne is chilling. Mimosa Farm - Home of the bottomless mimosa - iykyk 😉🥂✨
