How much energy does pain steal from your day?

Pain doesn’t just affect your body. It can take your focus, drain your patience, interrupt your sleep, and make even simple tasks feel exhausting. That’s why learning ways to respond to pain can be just as important as treating the source of it.

In this video, Cory shares a mindfulness practice that can help you shift your attention and create a greater sense of calm when discomfort shows up. It’s a simple tool to keep in your back pocket while you work toward healing.

At Stepping Stone Studios, we combine mindful movement with services like yoga, strength training, and acupuncture to help you move through life with greater comfort and confidence.

Your next moment of calm could be waiting in the studio. Find your class and join us. ✨

If getting off the floor feels harder than it used to… keep reading. 👀

Your body depends on a handful of basic movements every single day—squatting, twisting, reaching overhead, balancing on one foot, and stepping up. When those movements become difficult, everyday tasks can start feeling harder too.

The good news? Mobility isn’t something you’re stuck with. It’s something you can improve.

Whether you’re looking to move with less stiffness, feel steadier on your feet, or simply keep doing the things you enjoy, classes like yoga, pilates, tai chi, and strength training at Stepping Stone Studios are designed to help you move with more confidence.

Think of this as your sign to give your body the attention it deserves. Come find the class that gets you moving again.

Ever notice your breathing feels different on certain days? 🌬️

If you’ve been feeling more congested during allergy season or you’ve noticed poor air quality making it harder to take a comfortable breath, you’re not imagining it.

Gentle movement can help. Yoga and Tai Chi encourage deeper, more relaxed breathing, while acupuncture may help ease nasal congestion and support better respiration.

Chinese herbal medicine has also been used for centuries to support healthy immune function and soothe irritated airways with individualized herbal formulas.

These approaches are designed to work alongside your medical care—not replace it. And here’s one simple habit that’s easy to overlook: check the Air Quality Index (AQI) before spending time outdoors, especially on hazy or smoky days.

Your lungs work hard for you every day. Give them a little extra support—we’d love to have you join us at Stepping Stone!

You might be surprised by what people come to Stepping Stone Acupuncture & Wellness for.

This week, patients came to see Marissa for a variety of reasons. One was preparing for birth during the final weeks of pregnancy. Others came in looking for relief from pelvic floor tension or persistent lower back pain.

Clients also came looking for support through perimenopause and menopause, guidance for SIBO, abdominal therapy for endometriosis, herbal support while navigating grief, or simply a chance to slow down with a therapeutic massage.

Every person had a different reason for walking through the door, but they all had one thing in common: they wanted to feel better.

If you’ve been living with a symptom that’s making everyday life harder than it needs to be, maybe it’s time to see what a personalized treatment plan at Stepping Stone Acupuncture & Wellness could look like for you!

Movement doesn’t have to be intense to make a difference.

Many people put off exercising because they think they need to jump into a challenging workout. In reality, one of the best things you can do for your body is move consistently in a way that feels manageable.

Regular movement can help improve strength, balance, flexibility, mobility, energy levels, sleep, and overall well-being.

If you’re just getting started, classes like Chair Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Yoga Stretch, Yoga Fundamentals, and Pilates Mat are all wonderful places to begin building confidence while moving at your own pace.

Not sure which class fits your goals? Director Marissa Farrell is happy to point you in the right direction. Your next favorite class might be waiting for you at Stepping Stone Studios!

If your shoulders are always the first place to tighten up, this one’s for you.

It doesn’t take much for tension to build in the upper shoulders. Hours at a computer, a stressful week, carrying bags, working in the garden, or even sleeping in an awkward position can all leave your neck and shoulders feeling stiff.

In today’s video, Xi shares Gallbladder 21 (GB21), an acupressure point located halfway between the base of the neck and the tip of the shoulder. Gently massaging this area may help release tension in the upper trapezius muscles and encourage your shoulders to relax.

⚠️One important reminder: This point is contraindicated during pregnancy and should be avoided. ⚠️

Ready to give your shoulders a break? Visit Stepping Stone Acupuncture & Wellness and let us help you get to the root of your neck and shoulder tension, so you can move through your day more comfortably!

Do you ever get to the end of the day and think, “Why do I feel so worn out?”

Your feet are sore. Your legs feel heavy. Your shoulders are tight. You finally crawl into bed… and somehow you’re still wide awake.

Those things don’t always seem connected, but they all have one thing in common: your body may be asking you to slow down.

Reflexology is often thought of as a treatment just for your feet, but it is in fact a treatment that treats the whole body. Many people choose it because they want to feel more relaxed, release built-up tension, alleviate pain, and take a break from the constant go-go-go of everyday life.

If more than one of these signs sounds familiar, it may be time to stop pushing through them. Reflexology could be the reset your body has been asking for.

Schedule your visit at Stepping Stone Acupuncture & Wellness and take the first step toward feeling like yourself again.

Low back pain doesn’t always need more rest—it often needs the right kind of movement.

When your back starts hurting, it’s easy to freeze, avoid movement, or hope it’ll be better tomorrow. But staying completely still can sometimes make things feel even stiffer.

That’s why we asked our team one simple question: “What do you do when someone comes in with low back pain?”

The answers weren’t all the same—and that’s the point. Gentle stretching, acupuncture, massage, Tai Chi, Qigong, mindful breathing, cupping, and other hands-on therapies can all play a role depending on why your back is hurting.

Because there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. The best results come from understanding what’s contributing to your pain and creating a plan that fits your body.

If your back has been asking for attention, maybe it’s time to listen. We’d love to help you figure out where to start at Stepping Stone!

Your jaw might not be the real problem. 👀

If you’ve been dealing with TMJ pain, jaw clenching, or pelvic floor tension, you may be surprised to learn they’re often connected. The body doesn’t work in isolated parts—it works as one connected system.

Many holistic approaches, including Traditional Chinese Medicine, yoga, kinesiology, and fascial anatomy, recognize the relationship between the jaw and pelvic floor. When one area stays tight or restricted, the other can mirror that same pattern.

That’s why we look beyond where it hurts. Through acupuncture, abdominal therapy, massage therapy, craniosacral therapy, yoga, and mindful movement, we focus on restoring balance throughout your body—not just chasing symptoms.

Your body has a story to tell. Come discover what it’s been trying to say at Stepping Stone!

Most falls don’t happen because you’re clumsy. They happen because balance changes over time.

Balance is a skill, and like any skill, it gets better when you practice it.

If you don’t regularly challenge your balance, your body gradually loses some of the coordination and stability that help keep you steady. The good news? It’s never too late to start improving it.

Yoga, tai chi, pilates, and strength training at Stepping Stone Studios can help improve stability, coordination, and confidence while strengthening the muscles that support you every step of the way.

Ready to feel a little steadier? Come see which class feels like the right fit for you. 🌿
