I’m sure some of you have heard the news, but Painted Tree Boutiques - Ballwin, MO closed all of their locations effective immediately today. Employees and vendors were given no notice. The company has filed bankruptcy and vendors are now wondering if they will be paid for this months sales or reimbursed their deposits. Luckily, my yearly contract was up in January and I decided not to renew. At the time I struggled with that decision as I was one of the first vendors in the Ballwin store and I hated leaving my St. Louis County customers without a local place to shop my products. I had a feeling things were going downhill for Painted Tree and thought it was best to leave while I was ahead. Please be sure to support your local small businesses regardless of where you live.
