This popped up in my memories just in time for Halloween season. 🎃👻 I created this style about two years ago while I was in cosmetology school.

And looking at it again reminded me of something…

You learn A LOT in cosmetology school—but this wasn’t one of those things. 😂

School taught me the foundations: proper sanitation and hair care, the legal requirements of working in the beauty industry, consultations, basic cutting, and the proper application of chemical services like color, perms and relaxers.

Those things mattered. They gave me the professional foundation I needed to take what I already knew and become a licensed cosmetologist.

But THIS? 👀

This creativity.
These hands.
Being able to look at some hair and see what it could become before I ever touch it?

School didn’t teach me that.

I walked through those doors with that already in me.

This skill? I was born with it. 💚✨
