In 1993 I attended the Connecticut Institute of Hair, where I received the Golden Shears award for graduating first in my class, and took first place in the student category at the 1994 CT Hair Show. After 5 years at Heidi’s Salon in Westfarms Mall, I joined the staff of Salon Medusa in West Hartford. In my 20 years there, Salon Medusa was awarded the Hartford Advocate/CTNow “Best Salon West Hartford” award 15 times, Hartford Magazine’s “Best of Hartford” award 4 times, and was voted WeHa’s “Best Hair Salon” five times. At Looks by Lena, I create gorgeous looks for my clients, whether the perfect cut to flatter the face shape, or a color that brings warmth and dimension to the hair.
