💜 A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER’S HEART-TO-HEART

I want to say something sincerely, because sometimes I don’t think people realize what a no-call, no-show actually means to a small business owner.

When you book a 2-hour appointment with me, I’m setting aside those TWO HOURS specifically for you.

I’ve turned away other appointments.
I’ve planned my day around your appointment.
I’ve prepared the space.
And I’ve counted on that time being part of my income.

Recently, I had a client who had previously booked with me several times. The first two appointments went perfectly. Then, on the third appointment, she no-call, no-showed.

I waited an HOUR. Luckily I had a walk in (before appt only).

She later became upset because my booking calendar showed that I was “open,” so she came in expecting to be seen. By that point, I had already taken a walk-in to fill the time she had left open.

Fast forward a couple of weeks, and this same person booked again, but under a completely different name. I didn’t immediately realize it was the same person until we started talking during the appointment.

At that point, I decided to let it go. No hard feelings. She came back for another session.

And then today… another no-call, no-show.

And honestly, this one hit differently.

Not because I’m trying to shame anyone. Not because I expect life to never happen. I completely understand that emergencies, changes in plans, and unexpected situations happen.

But when you don’t communicate with me, I lose the opportunity to give that appointment to someone else who would have shown up.

In this economy, small businesses are already working hard to stay open, grow, pay bills, purchase supplies, maintain our spaces, and provide the experience our clients deserve.

So when you don’t show up, that empty appointment isn’t just an empty spot on a calendar.

It can mean hours of lost income for a small business owner.

I’m sharing this because I know I’m not the only small business owner who has experienced this.

So please, if you need to cancel or reschedule, just communicate with us. ❤️

A simple text is always better than silence.

Because behind every small business is a real person trying to make a living doing something they love.

With that being said, I am officially putting a deposit policy in place moving forward:

✨ 50% of your service total is required to book.
✨ Deposit is forfeited if you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of your appointment time.
✨ No-call, no-shows forfeit the deposit.
✨ If you choose to reschedule after forfeiting your deposit, a new deposit will be required to book another appointment.

This isn’t about being difficult.

It’s about protecting my time, my business, and the clients who respect their appointments.

Thank you to everyone who supports my small business, shows up, communicates, refers friends, leaves reviews, and continues to trust me with your business. 💜

Your appointments matter. Your support matters. And I promise, it never goes unnoticed.
