For most of my life, I wasn’t too interested in makeup.

I was always in a rush and usually outside. A tomboy. Pretty low maintenance.

Working as a field botanist. Restoring landscapes. Growing food for my family. Learning to notice what plants were trying to tell me.

Mascara… another field day at the beach or in the mountains… and lip balm.

When I finally decided to create one, I wasn’t trying to start a beauty brand.

I wanted to work with calendula—a glorious, versatile flower that grew in abundance in my garden and had earned my respect through both science and experience.

I began infusing whole flowers into plant oils and making balms for my family that nourished skin in a way none of us had experienced before.

Every Botanybabe balm still begins with homegrown whole calendula flowers, slowly infused into plant oils to preserve the full spectrum of their fat-soluble plant compounds, working together just as nature intended.

Extracts have their place, but they simply aren’t the same.

Every tube reflects what I’ve learned from a lifetime of science, farming, and working with plants.

My hope is that we can embrace our natural beauty while supporting our healthiest lips and skin.
