Today is Amber’s birthday, and after more than five years working side by side with this woman, I’m borrowing the Alkali socials for a minute. 🖤

I’ve watched Amber lead through enormous growth, hard seasons, incredible wins, approximately 47,000 ideas, and more “Okay, hear me out…” conversations than I can count. And through all of it, she has been a beacon.

There is so much work she does that no one sees. She has spent years challenging an industry that too often fails to recognize what we do as real work. She pushes against old norms, raises the bar for what a career in beauty can be, and keeps fighting to leave this industry better for the generation coming behind us.

And growth isn’t always pretty. Sometimes it hurts. Amber feels the weight of it deeply, shoulders it anyway, and somehow never loses sight of where she’s going. It’s quite remarkable, actually.

These words are mine, but the respect behind them isn’t mine alone. I see it in this team: in the way they trust her, learn from her, rally around her, and take genuine pride in what we’re building together. That kind of respect is earned slowly, in a thousand moments most people will never see.

Five years gives you a lot of life together. We’ve grown, cried, laughed until we couldn’t breathe, weathered some storms, and celebrated some beautiful things. After all of it, I can say with my whole chest: I respect the hell out of this woman.
