Swimming? Protect those locks!

Chlorine can leave your hair feeling dry, rough, dull and tangled — especially if your hair is coloured or chemically treated.

Our tip: Wet your hair with clean water before you jump in. Your hair absorbs less chlorinated water when it’s already saturated.

Even better — apply a little leave-in conditioner before swimming and wear a swimming cap if you can.

After swimming: Rinse your hair thoroughly with clean water and follow with a good conditioner.

Your hair may love the pool… but it doesn’t have to love the chlorine!

Take care of your hair before, during & after the swim.

OUR 48-HOUR CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING POLICY

When you book an appointment at The Caveman Cut, that time belongs to you. We reserve it specifically for you and turn away other bookings for that time.

Your appointment is not a placeholder in our diary. Once it is booked, that time is committed to you and is no longer available to another client.

That is why our 48-hour cancellation & rescheduling policy is in place.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, we require at least 48 hours’ notice.

We understand that life happens and unexpected situations can come up. But last-minute cancellations and no-shows have a real impact on a small business.

When an appointment is cancelled at short notice, we often cannot fill that time again. This means lost working time, lost income and another client potentially losing the opportunity to get an appointment.

This is especially important for longer appointments such as:

Full-head foils
Colour appointments
Hair trials
Matric hair
Bridal hair

These appointments require careful planning and significant time in our diary.

Our 48-hour policy has been in place since The Caveman Cut opened and is available on our price list, page and website.

Late cancellations and no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee.

This policy is not about being difficult, and it is not about punishing anyone.

It is about fairness.

Fairness to our small business.
Fairness to our time.
And fairness to the clients who may be waiting for an appointment.

When you book it, please keep it.
If you need to change it, please give us 48 hours.

We respect your time, and we kindly ask that you respect ours too.

When you book your time, we save your time.

We all love long hair… but let’s be honest — those ends go through A LOT!

Your hair survives heat, brushing, colouring, ponytails, pillows, wind, sun and everyday life. And because your ends are the oldest part of your hair, they need some extra love!

Give those ends moisture – condition regularly and treat your hair when it needs some extra TLC.

Don’t cook your hair! – straighteners, curling irons and excessive heat can cause dryness and breakage. Always use heat protection.

Be gentle when brushing – especially when your hair is wet. Start at the ends and gently work your way up.

Don’t be scared of a trim – trimming doesn’t stop your hair from growing. It helps keep those ends looking healthy and prevents split ends from travelling further up the hair.

Look after it while you sleep – avoid going to bed with soaking-wet hair and be mindful of tight hairstyles that can cause breakage.

Healthy hair starts from within too – a balanced diet, enough protein, vitamins and water all play a role in supporting healthy-looking hair.

And remember…

Growing long hair is one thing… keeping it healthy from root to tip is another!
