This week we celebrated the 'King of the Jungle' (well, savanna!)

Did you know wild lion numbers have dropped significantly over the past few decades? These incredible cats aren't just majestic to look at, they're apex predators who keep entire ecosystems in balance, from herds of herbivores to the health of the grasslands themselves. No lions, no balance!

Sadly, habitat loss and poaching are putting real pressure on their future. But here's the good news: awareness (like this post! πŸ‘‹) and international conservation efforts are making a real difference, and there's still so much hope for these incredible animals.

Want to see lions living their best free-roaming life from lounging, roaring, and ruling their kingdom? 🦁 Here are two spots where sightings are basically guaranteed!

🌍 Sabi Sands Game Reserve, South Africa: Open terrain and decades of conservation work mean you're almost certain to spot a pride up close
🌍 Masai Mara, Kenya: Open plains make lion tracking easy. Home of the iconic Marsh Pride, famously followed for decades on Big Cat Diary and later featured in the BBC series Dynasties

Don't forget the Okavango Delta for its dramatic wilderness experience and iconic wetland species where they regularly navigate via narrow water channels and floodplains.

Every safari booked helps support conservation projects that helps keep these giants roaring for generations to come. πŸΎπŸ’›
