Joining the random Friday thoughts collection 🤪

Am I going nuts, or is this also happening to other people?

Apparently I do washing so often that even when there is absolutely no load in the washing machine, my brain still hears that little jingle telling me the machine is done. 😂

I’ll be sitting there minding my own business and suddenly…

DING DING 🎶

At this point I think my brain has just permanently added the washing machine notification to my internal soundtrack.

Please tell me I’m not alone… because I refuse to believe I’m the only one whose chores have started haunting her. 😂

A few days ago I told you how rundown, aged and just not me I’ve been feeling after this forever cough. If you missed it, go find the cute MeyMey photo on my feed. She’s much prettier to look at than I am at the moment. 😂

This cough has honestly done me dirty.

Not only have I been feeling exhausted, but every time I look in the mirror I feel like I’ve aged about three years. I’m convinced every coughing fit comes with a complimentary wrinkle. No one asked for that special.

So last night I decided enough was enough.

After dinner, after cleaning up and after making sure everyone else had survived the day, I claimed one whole hour for myself. I gave myself a chemical peel, put on one of my favourite podcasts and pretended I didn’t have a million other things I should be doing.

It was glorious.

Now… did I do a sensible little peel? Of course not.

I went full send, pushed every boundary and now my skin is about to peel like I’ve tried to escape my own face. 😂 It’s going to be dry, flaky and slightly questionable for a few days.

Will it be worth it? Absolutely.

Will it stop these cough wrinkles from settling in permanently? Jury’s still out, but I’m prepared to fight them with every acid I’ve got. 🤣

It’s funny how we spend so much time telling everyone else to make time for themselves, while we’re running around looking like we’ve been through a tumble dryer.

So here’s your reminder… if you’ve been feeling a bit “meh” when you look in the mirror, maybe it’s time to put yourself back on your own priority list.

Your skin (and possibly your sanity) will thank you. 💛

Today I’m celebrating the incredible women in my life. ❤️

The women who have walked alongside me, encouraged me, listened to me, laughed with me, picked me up when I needed it and, sometimes without even knowing it, reminded me that I’m not doing this whole life thing alone.

I am genuinely so blessed to know you and to have been given a little piece of your journey. Every woman I meet leaves something behind, and I hope I do the same for you. ❤️

This long weekend, I’m also taking a little time to recharge my own battery.

I have a few sewing and crochet projects waiting for me, and while I would love to tell you I’m planning to finish them all… we both know better. 😂

But maybe that’s not the point.

Maybe it’s simply about doing something creative, slowing down, enjoying the process and giving myself permission to not always be busy, productive or ticking things off a list.

Sometimes we just need to breathe.

So this weekend I’m choosing a little more quiet, a little more creativity and a little more time just being me.

And if nothing gets finished?

Well… at least I had fun starting it. 😂❤️

How are you spending your long weekend? Are you resting, creating, catching up with loved ones… or desperately trying to convince yourself that you’re going to “get a few things done”? 😅

Just a random Friday thought…

But I genuinely don’t understand this whole anonymous posting thing on Facebook.

What can possibly be so wrong with your own name that you’d rather be CheerfulBunny5467 asking where to find the best curry in town? 😂

I mean… imagine I started giving skincare advice as PimplePatch3571.

“Trust me, this serum will change your life.”

Would you take me seriously? Because I wouldn’t. 🤣

Maybe I’m just getting old, but I miss the days when people were brave enough to ask for recommendations with their actual names.

I feel like every time I get the flu, I cough myself into a new wrinkle. 😅

Which probably says a lot about the facial expressions I make when I cough… but surely I can’t be the only one?

Does anyone else catch a glimpse of themselves in the mirror after a week of being sick and think, “Wow… I look as tired as I feel.” 🙋‍♀️

Unfortunately, I can’t wave a magic wand and fix the exhaustion (I wish I could!), but I can help refresh your skin, soften those tired-looking lines, and bring back that healthy glow.

If your reflection has been looking a little more “survived the flu” than “well rested,” maybe it’s time for a little me-time.

Book your complimentary skin consultation, and let’s chat about what your skin needs to look refreshed, healthy, and like you again. 💛

Ps. a cute picture of MeyMey, because I just can’t show my “new” wrinkle 🫣

And somewhere along the way, I realized that all conversations I am having lately comes back to this.

We are tired.

The mental load is real. Peri-menopause has entered the chat completely uninvited, and somehow this year has decided to sprint while the rest of us are still trying to find the coffee we made an hour ago.

Every client who walks into my treatment room lately seems to say the same thing…

“I just can’t keep up.”

And every single time I’m thinking… Same, my friend. Same.

I’ve finally decided that not everything has to be done today.

Revolutionary, I know. 😂

So instead of expecting myself to conquer an impossible to-do list before lunchtime, I’m giving myself 30 minutes a day to tick off a few things. Because I’ve realised something…

The more overwhelmed I get, the less I do.

Actually… let’s be honest… eventually I do absolutely nothing except stare at the list…

Which also explains why some of you had to wait a little longer for those treatment plans. 🫣 Thank you for sticking with me.

Behind The Beauty Project isn’t a woman who has it all figured out.

I’m just a girl trying to run a business, look after her clients, remember to order stock before it runs out, keep the laundry moving, decide what’s for dinner, drink enough water, answer messages, and somehow still remember where I’ve put my keys…

…which are usually in my hand.

The good news?

Every conversation reminds me that I’m not the only one feeling this way.

So if you’re also trying to juggle work, family, hormones, life, and your sanity… you’re in good company.

And if you need an hour where you don’t have to think about anyone else, come spend it with me. I’ll look after your skin, you can have a little nap if you want, and for one whole treatment you don’t have to remember a single thing.

Except your appointment. 😜🤍

One of the things I love most about what I do is that no two days ever look the same.

Some days my diary is full from start to finish with treatments, catching up with my wonderful clients and watching their skin transform appointment after appointment. Those are definitely my favourite days.

Other days look a little different…

It’s unpacking stock, making sure all your favourite products are on the shelves, giving the treatment room a proper deep clean, washing towels, answering messages, catching up on admin and making sure everything is ready for the next busy week.

The truth is, every one of those jobs matters. They all play a part in making sure that when you walk through my door, you can simply relax knowing everything has been taken care of.

But if I’m completely honest… I’d much rather be in the treatment room, chatting away while helping you reach your skin goals. ❤️

So if you’ve been meaning to book that facial, peel, skin needling session or simply come in for some skincare advice, this is your little reminder to stop putting yourself at the bottom of the list.

I’d love to see you in my treatment room soon. 🦩

There is something so comforting about a fireplace crackling away on a Wednesday afternoon, a hot cup of tea in hand, and finally catching up on all the admin that has been patiently waiting for me. Especially in weather like this.

Which then made me realise… I haven’t done a single chemical peel on myself this year! 🫣 I really need to get moving, otherwise I’ll miss my favourite time of year to give my own skin that extra bit of attention.

Talking about chemical peels… have you noticed how TCA peels seem to be everywhere on social media lately? And I have to admit, I’m loving it because TCA peels have always been one of my favourite treatments.

Did you know that Environ offers both a gel and a cream-based TCA peel?

So, what exactly is TCA?

TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) is a powerful skin resurfacing treatment that helps soften fine lines and wrinkles, improve pigmentation, reduce the appearance of acne scars, and stimulate healthy collagen and elastin production. The result? Smoother, brighter and healthier-looking skin.

The best part? There’s no real downtime. You can carry on with your day, although you may notice a little fine, almost invisible flaking over the next few days as your skin renews itself.

Winter is the perfect season for treatments like these, and every peel is customised to your skin and your concerns.

If you’ve been wondering whether a TCA peel is right for you, send me a message or book a consultation. I’d love to help you find the best treatment for your skin. 🤍

More isn’t always better…

Today, while performing the Environ Youth Renewal Cool Peel on one of my clients, I found myself reflecting on how much her skin has changed over the past three months.

It reminded me of something I say so often: more isn’t always the answer.

With the right peel strength, the correct layering, a personalised treatment plan, and consistency with the right home care, her skin has transformed beautifully. Her skin tone is more even, fine lines are softer, her skin feels firmer, and that healthy glow is impossible to miss.

This is exactly why I fall in love with chemical peels every winter.

Yes, I love chasing results (you know that by now 😉), but what I love even more is seeing the confidence that grows alongside those results. Watching someone need less makeup because they’re genuinely happy in their own skin is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Winter is the perfect season to invest in your skin, but it’s also a season that slips by so quickly.

So if you’re going to do one amazing thing for your skin before winter comes to an end, make it something that truly counts.

I’d love to help you choose the right treatment plan for your skin. Send me a message or book your consultation, and let’s reveal your healthiest, most confident skin yet.

This morning I was reminded how easily we comment on another woman’s body.

I have a lovely lady helping me at home, and she made a comment about my weight. I know that in her culture it’s completely normal, so I’m not upset with her.

But it did make me think…

Why are we, as women, so quick to comment on another woman’s appearance?

From a young age we hear comments about our hair, our skin, our bodies, our weight. Sometimes they’re meant as compliments, sometimes they’re meant as observations, but they all teach us the same thing: that our appearance is always being evaluated.

No wonder so many of us spend years believing we need to be “fixed.”

As someone who has struggled with my skin, my weight, and my confidence over the years, I know just how much words can stay with you. I also know how life-changing it is when someone chooses to encourage instead of criticise.

That is one of the biggest reasons I do what I do.

Yes, I help women improve their skin. But more than that, I want every woman who walks through my door to leave feeling seen, supported, and a little more confident than when she arrived. Because confidence doesn’t come from chasing perfection. It grows when someone reminds you that you are already worthy, even while you’re still growing.

Let’s be those women.

The ones who build each other up instead of quietly adding to the insecurities we all carry.

Because another woman will remember how you made her feel long after she has forgotten the words you said. 🤍

I hope today, and every day after, we choose to leave another woman’s confidence a little stronger than we found it.
