One of the most common questions I get is: “What is the most painful place to get a tattoo?”

The honest answer is “everyone is different, but some areas definitely come with more attitude than others.”

Here’s a general guide based on experience and client feedback:

🖐 Palm of the hand
Not many people choose this area for a reason. It’s extremely painful, and in my experience, tattoos here don’t heal well. They tend to blur, fade, or “drop out” over time which often makes it not worth the cost for detailed work. Makes the most Polite clients, potty mouths!

🦶 Feet
Many clients say this is one of the most painful areas. Healing can also be tricky — fine details may soften or blur, so bolder designs tend to work better here. Yes you will want to run!

🩻 Ribs
People are often nervous about ribs, but experience varies. Some sit surprisingly well, others find it very intense. It really depends on your pain tolerance and how long the tattoo takes. “Can you handle Spicey Ribs”

🍑 Side body -between ribs, stomach & thigh. This area can be quite intense — it can genuinely take your breath away at times.

🍑 Bums & groin area
Yes… it’s as sensitive as it sounds. Not the easiest spot, and definitely one that can bring a tear to the eye.

💪 Inner bicep towards the armpit and armpit, This one tends to make people sweat a little.

🦵 Inner thigh
Speaking from client feedback… not fun. This one has made more than a few people question their life choices mid-session.

🦵 Behind the knee / elbow
No real way to describe it… just different. Uncomfortable in a very unique way.
