MY TESTIMONY

40 Days Exodus Experience

God's timing, healing and restoration

When I was in Grade 11, approximately 40 years ago, I was diagnosed with epilepsy.

Every time there was an altar call for healing, I would go forward for prayer, believing that I had been healed. But time after time, I would experience another seizure.

My last seizure was in 2023. Eventually, I decided that if this was something I would have to live with, I would continue taking my medication and make peace with it.

THE 40 DAYS THAT CHANGED MY LIFE

In June 2025, I did the 40 Days Exodus Experience and lost 12 kg. But the journey was about so much more than physical transformation. During those 40 days, I worked through a lot of painful things from my past, and emotionally, I really struggled.

Shortly after completing the 40 days, I also attended a Forgiveness Course with our ladies' Bible study.

Then, during March 2026, I started experiencing a deep sense of peace.

One afternoon in April, while driving in my car, I clearly heard the Holy Spirit speak to me:

"Do you know that you are healed from epilepsy?"

Immediately, I started thinking back and realised that I had last taken my epilepsy medication in October 2025.

It is now September 2026. I have not experienced another seizure since 2023, and I have not taken epilepsy medication since October 2025.

I believe that during the 40 Days Exodus Experience, the Lord was leading me through the process of dealing with childhood trauma and emotional wounds. As I worked through these things, I experienced His healing and restoration in my life.
