People keep asking me what inspired me to write The Fire Within.

The truth? It wasn’t success. It was one of the hardest seasons of my life.

I was in a relationship that was breaking me, trying to lead a growing business while quietly falling apart inside. Therapy became a lifeline. I thought I was going to become a better partner and a better leader. Instead, I met myself.

After watching a TED Talk by Brené Brown on vulnerability, I started what she called the “sh*tty first draft”—writing without filtering. That’s when the truth came out.

I wrote about my childhood. Coming out as q***r. My family. My relationships. The protective walls I’d mistaken for my personality. The hard questions my therapist, Nicky, asked me. The healing I never knew I needed.

Over the years, I realised something: entrepreneurs aren’t superheroes. We’re human beings carrying dreams, trauma, love, loss, family, money, identity and hope—all at the same time.

That’s the book I wanted to read.

So I wrote it.

Over the past few years, many of you have walked this journey with me; as a doctor, Dj, entrepreneur, advocate, wife, leader, and simply as a q***r woman trying to find her place in the world while remaining true to herself.
I am incredibly excited (and a little nervous 😊) to share that my memoir, The Fire Within, will officially launch on 30 September 2026.
This book is more than a story. It is a testimony of resilience, purpose, identity, faith, failure, reinvention, and the courage to keep going when life gives you every reason to quit. It is a story about finding strength in adversity and discovering that your greatest setbacks can become your greatest gifts.
