Wink & Ink by Melissa is officially ONE! ✨

One whole year of turning a little dream into something real — and honestly, I couldn’t be more grateful. One year of learning, growing, creating, long days, lots of laughs and, most importantly, so many incredible clients who have made this journey what it is. 🤍

To every single person who has booked with me, trusted me, recommended me, supported my business or simply cheered me on — thank you. Every appointment, every conversation and every bit of support has meant more to me than you know.

And today isn’t just my milestone — it’s yours too.🤍 Without every client who chose me, trusted me and kept coming back, Wink & Ink wouldn’t be what it is today. You have played such a special part in building this little dream of mine, and I will forever be grateful.

Almost one year ago, I did exactly that.

I took a leap of faith and started Wink & Ink by Melissa.

There wasn’t some perfect five-year plan. I didn’t have all the answers. I just knew that I had a love for beauty, for artistry, for making people feel beautiful — and a very strong feeling that I was meant to build something of my own.

So I did.

And somewhere between my first appointments, the nerves of wondering whether people would actually book, the long days, the early mornings, the laughs, the conversations and the countless little details that nobody sees…

Wink & Ink became so much more than a business.

It became mine.

A little piece of my heart that I get to pour into every single day.

I’ve always been a bit of a perfectionist. 😂 I notice the tiny details. I care about symmetry, precision and getting things just right. But over this past year, I’ve realised that what I love most about this industry has very little to do with lashes or brows or PMU.

It’s people.

It’s the woman who walks through my door after a long week and gets to switch off for an hour.

It’s the conversations we have while I work.

The laughs.

The life updates.

The “okay, I have to tell you what happened…” stories. 😂

The friendships and connections I never expected to make.

It’s watching someone look in the mirror at the end of an appointment and seeing that little moment where their confidence comes back.

And then there’s the part I never could have imagined when I started…

You.

The clients who took a chance on me.

The women who came back.

The ones who recommended me to their sisters, mothers, daughters and friends.

The ones who trusted me with their faces, their stories and their time.

The ones who have supported me through every chapter of this little business.

You have filled my books, but more importantly, you have filled this business with meaning.

This year has taught me that building something of your own is equal parts terrifying and incredibly rewarding.

There have been moments where I’ve doubted myself.

Moments where I’ve wondered whether I was doing enough, whether I was on the right path, whether this little dream of mine would really become what I hoped it could be.

And then I look around and realise…

Look what we built.

From starting out on my own, to becoming fully booked, to growing a loyal clientele, to new chapters and new spaces, to being nominated for Best Beauty / Health Spa — things I once only hoped for are slowly becoming my reality.

And now, as Wink & Ink approaches its first birthday, I find myself feeling incredibly emotional about it.

Because this isn’t just a business that is turning one.

It’s a version of me that is turning one too.

The version of me who was brave enough to start.

The version of me who kept going when things felt uncertain.

The version of me who learned, grew, made mistakes, celebrated little wins and kept putting one foot in front of the other.

And I am so proud of her.
