Roland - Mountain Biker

Stage 4 was a little cooler in temps and the athletes all felt the same in just getting the task at hand done! Sadly Sean had to be taken to Medical and won’t be continuing. Buddy you are a phenomenal friend and partner and there will be another one I promise. Today I start as the “Lonely Leopard” in my own attempt to finish this Epic.

Cape Epic Stage 2 and three have been brutal. Sean and myself working with each other to get each other over the line the best we can. These trails are so fun, but the hot sun had different ideas for all involved. Epic Organization doing their best to keep all athletes hydrated and fed and doing a phenomenal job with this task. Thank you Cape Epic for all your hard work thus far 🙏🫶

Stage 1 has always had the reputation of being the one that sorts the riders out. It was just as we thought.
The climbs were brutal, however the wind was relentless all day. We fought a climb pretty much all day with that wind pushing us back and to the side constantly. We had very little time to recover on this one. Sean Wilson you were a true partner today my friend. Strong and consistent!!

This pic does a little justice for the steepest gradient on the steepest road in North America… I’m standing at the bottom of the turn onto Canton, and it literally kicks straight up from there. Half way up in this pic you can see Mike standing on the side to the right. I am so stoked to have conquered this short but challenging street without incident.

Last one of the year 💨 UCI MTB World Cup in Mont Ste Anne. Always been a place I’ve wanted to visit!! I’m here finally ❤️🙏
