AYA Natural Skin
AYA Natural Skin clean, natural brand allowing woman to fall in love with their skin
Some Saturday thoughts on skin, choice, and enjoying this one life 🌿
I was listening to a podcast about all the things we “shouldn’t” do for our skin - no ca
ffeine, no sugar, no alcohol, no smoking. And her takeaway stuck with me: you do you.
It’s not about perfection. It’s about deciding what matters to you and making peace with the rest.
If skin ease and comfort matter to you, make those choices. If it’s not top of your list right now, that’s fine too.
We’re all just trying to live this life as well as we can, and enjoy it while we’re at it.
Off to walk this stretch of sand a little longer before the world wakes up. 🤍
This is Lethu packing your order.
That’s just who she is - lovely, careful, present. Every single time.
When your AYA order arrives, this is the last pair of hands it passed through before yours. 🧡
Uiteindelik. Finally. A proper night’s sleep.
If you know menopause and sleep, you know they are not exactly the best of friends. So last night felt like a small miracle, and I woke up this morning feeling genuinely human - which, naturally, means I have thoughts.
Here’s the one that’s been sitting with me: papain.
That’s the enzyme in papaya - and it’s the reason our Balm does what it does. Gentle exfoliation, inflammation calmed, dead skin cleared without acid, without stripping, without drama.
But here’s the interesting part. Papain is also the active ingredient in conventional chemical face peels. Not the natural version - a synthetic, lab-extracted version. And the fact that the industry went to all that trouble to recreate it in a lab tells you something.
Nature got there first. She always does.
We just use the real thing. Fermented. Ripened in the sun. The way it was always meant to work.🌿
Looking back on my June posts, I realise I have so much to say about skincare. Honestly, no surprise there.
From my superhero paediatrician's advice - no bubbles, ever - to the reason we chose 14 oils in our liquid gold magical blend, the moments this month when I have looked glorious and the other reality I see in a Checkers mirror.
It all comes back to the same thing: our skin needs nourishment now more than ever as we head into the coldest months.
So we've put together our Winter Wonder Bundle - the three products I'd reach for first this winter:
🧡 AYA Balm - for everything, everywhere
🧡 AYA Nourishing Oil - 14 oils your skin will thank you for
🧡 Body Bliss Soap Bar - because cleansing matters as much as treating
R435 down to R348 - 20% off. 29 June to 4 July only.
Grab the Winter Wonder Bundle before 4 July, and your skin will be sorted. 🧡

A while back I posted a photo of myself, on an evening out, looking so glamorous even if I do say so myself.
Here is the thing that’s still my skin. No base. No foundation.
I battled with my skin through my teens, my 20s, into my early 30s. Breakouts, sensitivity, never feeling quite settled in it. What changed wasn’t just a product. It was a combination of things, natural skincare yes, but also what I was eating, how I was living, how I was taking care of myself.
Thirteen years of making AYA taught me something: your skin reflects everything. Not just what you put on it. What you put in your body, how you sleep, how you move, how you choose to live.
That’s the whole picture. The glamorous photo is just a good day. This, the evening walk, the dogs, the bare skin this is the real routine. 🧡
My biggest takeaway natural products and a nourishing lifestyle is what works best.
This is Lethu.
She helps me make every tin of AYA Balm - and yes, she uses it too.
Lips first. Always lips first.
There’s something I love about watching someone use a product they actually helped create. No performance, no pitch. Just a woman who knows exactly what’s in it, putting it on her lips without a second thought.
That’s the only endorsement I ever need. 🧡
My best influencer moment: filming myself smearing balm under my nose at 35,000 feet, while the very lovely flabbergasted Frenchman next to me watched the whole thing unfold.
I don’t think he knew where to look. I didn’t either, if I’m honest. But I gave him my ever-handy spare AYA Balm, and he just loved it.
This is AYA Balm doing what it does best - dry skin, cracked lips, recycled cabin air, the works. Does it all, goes everywhere I go. Even when “everywhere” includes filming content next to a total stranger who just wanted to have a good flight
Has anyone ever caught you doing something very on-brand in public? 🧡
