Let me tell you about this blonde journey because THIS is what happens when a client sticks with her stylist, trusts the process and doesn't salon-hop every time Mercury is in retrograde 😂😭

When she first came to me, her hair was BROKEN and YELLOW.

And the scary part?

Her natural base is actually LIGHT enough to achieve a beautiful platinum blonde 😭

All this woman ever wanted was two things:

💛 BLONDE HAIR
💛 HEALTHY HAIR

Sounds simple, né? 😂

But when the hair is already compromised, you can't just throw bleach at it and pray in Italian 🇮🇹😂

So we started a JOURNEY.

We incorporated Brazilian treatments to help manage the hair, support our growth journey and get the hair into a better space.

Eventually, we introduced KUPA PPT 🙌🏻

And then came strategic layering, shaping and slowly working with what we had while her hair GREW.

No magic wand.

No overnight miracle.

Just CONSISTENCY. PATIENCE. HOME CARE. AND TRUST.

Now fast forward to her appointment this past week 😍

We wanted more PROMINENT blonde flashes ✨

So I went in with micro baby slices to create those brighter, more noticeable pops of blonde without just attacking the entire head.

And then I noticed something…

😭😭😭 HER HAIR HAS FINALLY GROWN PAST HER TOP DESK!

And for the FIRST TIME…

It's all basically the SAME LENGTH 😭👏🏻🔥

From broken hair and mismatched layers…

To healthy-looking, longer, platinum blonde hair with beautiful flashes and an actual SHAPE 😍

THIS is why I preach consistency.

Your stylist learns your hair.

We learn how it lifts.
Where it's porous.
What it can handle.
And sometimes… when to tell you NO, BELLA, WE ARE NOT BLEACHING THAT TODAY 😂🇮🇹

Okay my Bellas… gather around because today we're having a little BLONDE EDUCATION 101 😂☕💇🏻‍♀️➡️💇🏼‍♀️

Going blonde from DARK is not a case of:

“Hi Santana, I want to be blonde today.”

Absolutely Susan. And I'd like to wake up looking like a Victoria's Secret model with zero effort. 😂😂😂

BLONDE IS A JOURNEY.

With this mother-and-daughter blonde adventure, we started in the DARK BROWN PHASES 🤎

For starters, I used HI-LIFTERS.

These are lifting colour tubes that work by lifting for around 40 minutes and toning for around 15 minutes.

So we lifted…
And lifted…
And lifted some more 😂

Slowly moving through those darker phases and getting the hair ready for the next chapter.

Then, at our next sitting, we introduced…

😈 BLEACH.

But LOW volumes.

Because my goal isn't just to make you blonde.

MY GOAL IS TO KEEP THE HAIR ON YOUR HEAD. 😂👏🏻

Now here's something people don't always understand…

Even with bleach, we CAN and WILL sometimes see COLOUR BANDS.

Why?

Because hair has HISTORY.

Previous colour.
Different levels of porosity.
Old highlights.
Root colour.
Heat damage.
Different products.

Your hair remembers EVERYTHING.

Basically, your hair is that one auntie at the family braai who knows everyone's business. 😂☕🐆

And yes…

BLEACH CAN COMPROMISE THE INTEGRITY OF YOUR HAIR.

But there are products and treatments we can use to help protect and rebuild the hair during the blonde journey.

One of my absolute SAVIOURS has been KUPA PPT 🙌🏻

That product alone has saved the majority of my blonde adventure clients. 😂👏🏻

Now let's talk TONER.

YES.
TONING IS A MUST.

And YES.

TONER FADES.

Especially when the hair is intensely porous.

Ever used silver shampoo and noticed certain pieces suddenly grab darker, greyer or more purple than others? 👀

HELLO POROSITY 😂

Those areas are grabbing pigment differently because the hair is more porous.

Both mom and daughter take extra measures at home and use No Yellow Shampoo because it's a TONING silver shampoo 💜

And remember…

They have been on their blonde journey for LESS THAN A YEAR.

And LOOK at the result we've achieved 😍🔥

But here's the important part…

BOTH of them are taking extra measures to protect the integrity of their hair.

💛 They push their appointments as long as possible before touch-ups to allow the hair time to recover.

💛 They use the correct home care.

💛 They use minimal heat styling.

💛 Flat irons and curling tongs are kept to a minimum.

Because going blonde is a TEAM EFFORT.
