One of the biggest misconceptions in the hair industry is that curl names are universal.

They’re not.

A “Burmese Curl” from one supplier may look completely different from a “Burmese Curl” from another supplier. The same goes for Jerry Curl, Deep Wave, Water Wave… the names aren’t standardized across manufacturers.

That’s why I always encourage clients to shop by the actual curl pattern, not just the name.

✨ Whether it’s been coloured
✨ The supplier or factory it came from
✨ Even the age of the hair

Here’s something that’s always starting a fight between service providers and clients. And that’s appointments and expectations.

Usually a service provider is taking multiple clients a day and allocating specific times for certain services. If you arrive with braids that need to be removed, need a wash and treatment, and then need a weave installation, those are separate services that need to be factored into your booking time.
