🏐 What a great day of netball! 🔥

Sixes netball is seriously exciting to watch! It’s fast, nonstop and action-packed — there’s barely a second to catch your breath! 😅

With 4 of our 6 players able to shoot, it makes for such an exciting attacking game! 🎯

And what a day for our U19 Ladies Hillfox — 2 wins! 💪🏼🏆

💥 Hillfox 39 – 20 Benoni
🔥 Hillfox 42 – 41 Centurion

That second game was an absolute THRILLER! 😱 We only took the lead in the final 10 seconds! Talk about keeping everyone on the edge of their seats! 🙌🏼

So proud of the girls — what a performance! ❤️🏐

I don’t think I need another holiday.

I think I need to feel wild again.

There’s a difference.

A holiday gives you a break from your life.
An adventure gives you a little bit of your life back.

No emails.
No notifications.
No rushing from one thing to the next.

Just the weather doing whatever it wants, a body that has to work, a path you’re not completely sure about, and enough silence to actually hear yourself think.

Maybe that’s why I keep being drawn to places like this.

I’m not escaping my life.

I’m escaping everything we’ve somehow managed to pile onto it.

The noise.
The urgency.
The expectations.
The constant pressure to be productive, available and doing something “useful”.

Out here, everything becomes beautifully simple.

Walk.
Climb.
Eat.
Drink.
Laugh.
Watch the weather change.
Keep moving.

And somehow, I come home cold, tired, muddy, hungry and completely exhausted…

but feeling more alive than I did before I left.

Maybe that’s the reminder I keep needing.

Comfort is wonderful, but it isn’t always what restores us.

Sometimes we need cold hands.
Muddy shoes.
A little uncertainty.
A horizon disappearing into the mist.

Sometimes we need to get away from the perfectly controlled version of life and remember what it feels like to actually live it.

Because maybe we weren’t put here just to be comfortable.

Maybe we were put here to feel alive. ❤️

I think we've completely misunderstood the midlife crisis.

Maybe it isn't a crisis at all.

Maybe it's the moment you finally become unable to keep living a life you've outgrown.

For years, you can tolerate the wrong things.

The job that slowly empties you.

The relationship that hasn't felt right for a long time.

The city you never really belonged in.

The habits that once helped you cope but now keep you stuck.

The version of yourself you created because it made everybody else comfortable.

You keep going.

Because that's what adults do.

Responsibilities accumulate.

Time accelerates.

And somewhere between paying bills, raising families, building careers and trying to hold everything together...

you stop asking a very simple question:

Do I actually want this life?

Then something happens.

A birthday.

A breakup.

A funeral.

Burnout.

Your children getting older.

Or perhaps nothing dramatic happens at all.

You just wake up one morning and realise:

I can't spend the next twenty years living the same way I spent the last twenty.

People call that a crisis.

I'm beginning to think it's clarity.

Because starting again at 50 isn't the same as starting at 20.

At 20, you have energy but very little evidence.

At 50, you've collected data.

You know what drains you.

You know which relationships shrink you.

You know what your body feels like when you neglect it.

You know money doesn't fix everything.

You know status doesn't feel nearly as impressive from the inside.

You know how quickly ten years disappears.

Most importantly...

you've survived enough wrong turns to stop being terrified of taking another one.

You aren't starting from zero.

You're starting from experience.

From scars.

From mistakes.

From conversations you wish you'd handled differently.

From places you should have left sooner.

From things that worked.

And hundreds that didn't.

That's not baggage.

That's a map.

Perhaps that's what midlife is really asking of us.

Not:

"How do I get my old life back?"

But:

"Knowing everything I know now...

what do I want to do with the life I have left?"

That's a completely different question.

And lately I think it might be one of the most important questions we'll ever answer.

You're not too old to start again.

You're finally old enough to know what you want
