As daar een plant is wat weet hoe om te bekoor en sintuie te betower, is dit laventel, of jy nou ’n tuinmens is of nie! Laventel aard goed in ons klimaat en met hul pragtige grysgroen blare en pers blomme is dit beslis een van die bekendste en gewildste plante in tuine landwyd. Die historiese wynplaas Canettevallei met sy stukkie Franse flair lê reg langs die Ou Kaapse Hardepad – toentertyd die oorspronklike pad Kaap toe. Ingrid (op die foto) en haar man, Daniël, is die sesde geslag De Waals wat hier boer. Sowat 20 jaar gelede het Ingrid besluit om ’n lappie laventelveld te plant. Sy’t letterlik met een plantjie begin. Self steggies gemaak en elke ses maande nog drie rye laventel geplant. Vandag is Canettevallei sowat ses maande van die jaar, van Mei tot Oktober, uiters gewild onder fotograwe en besoekers vir ’n spesiale laventel-ervaring, vertel sy in Bruis.

These crystals that form in or on soap are predominantly fatty acid crystals, primarily composed of sodium stearate. When soap sits, the superfat within the bar spontaneously self-assemble. In the presence of moisture and certain temperatures, the fatty acids form intertwined, needle-like crystalline fibres.
