We have today arrested the key suspect in the case of assault of a woman in a video that went viral. The incident is reported to have happened on 18th June, 2017 in Makeni Villa after the accused person suspected the victim to have been having an intimate relationship with her husband. The suspect has been identified as Mwayana Nyirongo aged 30 Of Makeni Villa in Lusaka. The victim also of Makeni Villa aged 24 had gone to report the matter to NGOCC in Lusaka yesterday in the company of her relatives and NGOCC later reffered the matter to police. A docket of Assault OABH has been opened .The Suspect is in Police custody and a medical report form was issued to the victim. Investigations have continued so as to bring to book the other people involved.

Former Electoral Commission of Zambia Director Dan Kalale has raised concerns over the announcement by Home Affairs Minister Davies Chama that prisoners will be allowed to vote in the August elections.
Last week, Home Affairs Minister Davies Mwila directed the ECZ to allow inmates with voters cards to vote in the forthcoming elections.

Mr Kalale said the opposition should open their eyes because the development is a clear red flag.
He accused the PF of introducing methods that even the ECZ is not aware about.

Mr Kalale also described ECZ Chairman Justice Essau Chulu as the most spineless Judge he has ever come across saying the man has no mind of his own.

Writing on his page, Mr Kalale said Justice Chulu in all details his clueless about the electoral process.

“For those that have not seen cluelessness in its physical form, just look at Essau Chulu and you would have seen it all,” Mr Kalale said.

He said under normal circumstances, the ECZ was the entity that was supposed to make the announcement about inmate being allowed to vote.

Mr Kalale said there was need for more public awareness of the change coupled with more information on the modalities of the new dimension in terms of the voting procedures.

“In any case, could it be desperation on the part of the PF government? Will the prisoners be taken to their polling stations or ECZ will create new polling stations in prison precincts by also spelling out safeguard measures put in place to counter possible manipulation?”

Chishimba Kambwili has described the adoption of UPND vice-president for administration Geoffrey Mwamba as party president Hakainde Hichilema’s running-mate as darkest day in the country’s political history.
And Dr Kambwili has castigated The Post for allegedly carrying headlines bent on threatening peace and security. Dr Kambwili said at a press briefing in Kitwe yesterday that the adoption of Mr Mwamba is aimed at hoodwinking Zambians into believing that the UPND has redeemed itself from the tribal tag it is known for.
He said the Patriotic Front (PF) will still defeat the UPND despite the “painful” decision Mr Hichilema has made out of “desperation” to ascend the highest office. Dr Kambwili said Mr Mwamba is not a threat as Zambians know his conduct.

The year 2016 is set to be the most controversial and highly contested Electrol year in Zambia’s history since 1991. One cannot deny that this is also seemingly the last battle and final showdown between the UPND and Patriotic front. UPND's Hakainde Hichilema to disclose running mate in a few hours time amidst public anxiety

President Edgar Lungu will tomorrow, Friday 13 May 2016 hold a Press Briefing at State House, the second since he took over office. The press briefing will start at 09 Hours.
Following dissolution of Parliament last night, President Lungu is expected to give guidance on a number of issue pertaining to the governance of the nation.
President Lungu is expected to give direction regarding the legality of the Vice-President and Cabinet ministers retaining their positions after dissolution of Parliament.

HIGH Court today ruled that when a candidate possesses higher qualification but does not have a G12 Certificate or its equivalent, he/she is eligible to stand.Judge Dominic Sichinga ruled.
