For the woman who has already done the work, and noticed who went quiet afterwards.
There is someone who has not been the same since you started looking after yourself. You noticed, and you have been working quite hard at not noticing.
There was no falling out. Nothing was said. The calls got further apart, then they were messages, then there was nothing, and you can point to the week it changed.
Some friendships were built on you being the one who always answered. Available at any hour, never needing anything back. So when you stop answering at midnight every single time, the shape of it changes.
That is not you turning cold. That is a friendship finding out what it was made of.
Some of them adjust, and those are worth the awkward few months while everybody learns the new rules. And the version of you that keeps a little back for herself is not a lesser friend.
Share this with someone in the awkward few months right now.
“I don’t know who I am anymore.”
I hear it more than anything else. Almost never with tears. Just usually while she is taking her shoes off, said in the same voice you would use for the weather.
She is not lost.
She has been described from the the outside for so long that there is no view from the inside left.
Mum. Manager. The reliable one.
The one who remembers everybody’s appointments.
There is nothing wrong with any of those. They are all just answers to what you do for other people.
An hour where nobody needs anything from you is not indulgent.
Send this to the woman who would say that sentence out loud if anybody asked her.

I used to think my job was fixing skin.
Not in a cruel way. I was coming out of night classes a lot older than most people in the room, with a young family at home, and I believed the help was in the clearing up and the calming down. Send her out looking better than she came in. That felt like doing right by her.
Then you do it for long enough and you notice something that does not fit.
The women who leave happiest are not always the ones whose skin changed the most.
They are the ones who got listened to. The ones who got remembered.
So somewhere along the way I stopped trying to fix anybody.
I still know what I am doing with skin. That part did not go anywhere. It is just not the point of the hour any more.
Now I think the job is much simpler than fixing.
It is an hour where nothing is wrong with you.
What is something you changed your mind about, that you are glad you changed?

Most salons leave the room when the mask goes on.
I have worked in them, so I know why it happens, and it is not cruelty. It is numbers. If the mask needs fifteen minutes, that is fifteen minutes you could be setting up another room, taking another booking, starting somebody else.
So the door clicks, and you lie there in the half dark listening for footsteps. And when she comes back you are told that was the relaxing part. It was not. You were waiting.
There is only one reason to leave a room. Somebody else is waiting.
In here the mask goes on and I stay. I pick up the bowls and I play them, and that is almost always the moment your body finally lets go. Not because the mask is working. Because nobody left.
Has this happened to you? Tell me in the comments, I would like to know how normal it actually is.

The same faces. The same salons.
Beauty has started to look the same everywhere.
The same quiet pressure to keep up.
And somewhere in all that sameness
we stopped asking the question that matters most.
How does this make me feel?
I've spent years inside this industry.
I've watched it move further from the body
and closer to the image.
Blue Moon was built to go the other way.
The Homecoming Ritual nervous system facial isn't designed to change how you look.
It's designed to help your body feel safe enough to rest.
Sound. Touch. Stillness.
Your skin softens because you do.
A small room in Cobbitty
where nothing about you needs to match anything else.
You were never meant to look like everyone...
There was no plan to film nor create content.
Phones away, as with all our sessions.
Just seventy-five minutes that were hers.
Halfway through, Courtney stopped me.
She wanted to remember it.
I don’t usually share reviews like this.
But the moment she reached for her phone, it wasn’t about the camera.
It was about not wanting to forget how it felt to finally be still.
Thank you, Courtney, for trusting the room.

Some things you want to keep...
22/09/2026
Some words you carry with you.
Some you need again and again,
on the days that feel heavy,
on the days that feel like too much,
on the days you forget you are allowed to rest at all.
Maya Angelou.
Toni Morrison.
bell hooks.
Thich Nhat Hanh.
Words from people who understood
what it means to come home to yourself.
Save this one.
Come back to it.
A little reminder, from my little room here in Cobbitty, that you don't have to hold it all today.

Every ad you have ever seen for your own face began the same way. By finding something wrong with it.
I know, because I used to write them.
Find the pore. The line. The dullness. Name it clearly enough that she sees it too, in a mirror she was fine with an hour ago.
Then sell the fix as though it were comfort.
I was good at it. Which is its own kind of uncomfortable to admit.
Here is the part nobody says out loud. A solved problem stops paying.
So the model gets built to never quite finish. There is always a next area, a next protocol, something you had not noticed until somebody pointed at it.
That is not a conspiracy.
Nobody is rubbing their hands. It is simply what a business does when its income depends on a problem staying open.
I would rather you came less often and left with something that holds. It is a worse business model and I know exactly what it costs me.
There is no skin correction talk in the treatment room at Blue Moon Wellness Spa in Cobbitty (unless you ask for it) That was deliberate.
I'm not interested in selling you a version of yourself that needs fixing.
I don't think you were broken to start with.
