We recently saw someone rate Enzyme Therapy as a treatment they tried once - and it was a pretty low rating…👀 So what do we think?
Well - we TOTALLY get it!
It’s not super luxurious.
It smells weird. It gets tight and kind of itchy.
And a few days later your skin gets a bit dry and you might have a few underlying breakouts pop up.
So….. this sounds kind of like an anti Enzyme post 😁 (and as a business owner I actually really hated the first experience myself - until I’d had 3 and used my prescribed products - and saw changes that made me absolutely fall in LOVE with the concept and my new skin…)
But here’s the thing.
Enzyme Therapy is kind of like going to the gym after a 4 year break.
Not much fun the first time.
But once your skin wakes up and responds to the treatment - the positive changes start happening.
Just like they did for me. Just like they have for hundreds of clients we’ve seen for many years now.
So no.
It’s not for you if you want a one off treatment…. We have other options for you.

The 3 in clinic treatments I saw EVERYWHERE in Korea 💬
Whilst in Korea recently I of course had to check out what was most commonly on the menu (and no, I didn’t get anything done - I trust my team and our devices - and really didn’t want any downtime!).
But it seems the most popular treatments are aligned to their ethos; correction without excess damage.
Here’s the 3 standouts that were consistently on the menu:
✅ Potenza RF microneedling
For pores, texture, acne scarring, collagen remodelling.
✅ Non-ablative pigment/toning lasers
Korea remains heavily focused on treating pigmentation, uneven tone and clarity using lower fluence, repeated-treatment approaches over aggressive resurfacing (and they CAN due to their strong culture of sun avoidance…).
✅ Injectable skin boosters — Rejuran and Juvelook in particular. This is probably the most popular Korean trend right now.

What does CoolPeel recovery actually look like? 👀
Day 2
Day 4
Day 6.
One of the things we love about CoolPeel is that it isn’t a one-setting-fits all treatment.
We adjust the treatment intensity depending on your skin, what we’re treating and the result we’re trying to achieve.
A lighter treatment can mean little downtime, while more intensive settings may mean more redness, dryness and visible recovery.
This is our Dermal Therapist Mon’s recovery after CoolPeel, showing how quickly the skin can settle following treatment.
This was a light to moderate treatment with no intervention except using Epicutis Australia New Zealand post.
And remember:
less downtime doesn’t necessarily mean better or worse.
Sometimes your skin will have a little more or less recovery. But out of 30 cool peels we’ve done so far, this is pretty standard.
Ps! Your treatment will always be tailored to your skin and your goals.
Of course, we provide the healing environment 🤍

I went to Korea expecting to find the secret behind Korean skincare. And what I discovered was much more interesting 🤯
First off, I have NEVER seen skin that flawless….. anywhere! Absolutely insane.
No wonder the world is obsessed with K Beauty.
We see Korean skin and think “ooo I can have that too if only i buy the 10 step routine!”
But here’s the difference:
👉The western version of “glass skin”:
Exfoliate.
Retinol.
Vitamin C.
Dermaplaning.
Peels.
Aka. Resurface, buff and polish.
👉The Korean approach:
Minimise cumulative UV damage.
Protect the barrier.
Maintain hydration.
Manage pigmentation early.
Aka. Prevent damage before it becomes visible.
So,
Maybe we’ve misunderstood Korean glass skin🤔
We see the result and ask, “What PDRN product do I need to get that?”
But maybe the better question is: “What have they been doing differently for the last 30 years?”
Because i GUARANTEE they didnt have a salmon farm in the back yard…
What are your thoughts? 💬 Agree or disagree?
Skin Magic with Aerolase Australia 💫
These vessels will need more than one treatment - it’s not a one and done in most instances!
And the body will find a way to create more over time - so management is key.
At HÜD we have several laser and BBL’s. Your clinician will assess which device is right for you, and book you in for a test patch.
Want us to talk about why a test patch is necessary? Even if you’ve had one before? Let us know and we’ll share the reasons! X

Think your cleanser doesn’t matter? Think again! 👀
The skin sits at a naturally slightly acidic pH.
Thats why the surface is referred to as your Acid Mantle….
This acidic environment is what your barrier, cells and enzymes need to work properly.
Those enzymes help organise barrier lipids, and they regulate desquamation (you know, the controlled shedding of old skin cells).
When that environment gets disrupted over and over by using a cleanser that is maybe too alkaline or contains surfactants that removes too much surface lipids - everything goes a little haywire…
Shedding becomes uneven, texture builds up, and the barrier becomes leaky.
That’s why your choice of cleanser is SO important.
Not because it stays on your skin, but because twice daily it changes the conditions your skin has to function in.
Want us to talk more about the cleansers we recommend and why? 👇👇👇
Reality check on “anti-ageing” treatments - as a 54 year-old clinic founder.
This is my skin.
No filter.
No ring light or sneaky tinted spf.
No pretending. every sign of ageing can be fixed with a laser, injectable or expensive serum.
Because ageing isn’t just a skin problem.
Collagen and elastin change, fat compartments shift, soft tissue changes and even the facial skeleton remodels with age.
So when one treatment promises to “lift”, replace volume AND reverse ageing… Umm…🚩
Here’s what I’m actually planning - and expecting:
✅ BBL/Aerolase: clearer pigment, redness and photodamage. Not glass skin.
✅ CO₂ + RF microneedling: better texture, collagen remodelling and some improvement in laxity. Improvement ….. not the skin I had at 25.
✅ Biostimulation: improving tissue quality and supporting collagen/ECM remodelling — not replacing structural changes underneath.
✅ Upper blepharoplasty: because sometimes excess skin needs surgery. No skincare or device can replace surgical excision. My team will handle the post op and my DMK Australia & New Zealand Revitosin vitamin A and my Epicutis essentials will handle my prep.
Sme things I’m not trying to “fix”.
I have age-related structural change around my lower face. I can improve the skin sitting over it, but tightening skin doesn’t rebuild the facial skeleton underneath.
And so the least sexy part of the plan: protein, nutrition, sleep, resistance training and continued use of quality SPF.
I LOVE what we can achieve with skin at HÜD!
But our industry needs to get better at saying:
This is what I can improve.
This is what I probably can’t.
And this is what ageing normally looks like.
Embrace that.
The goal isn’t to look 25.
It’s to have BLOODY GREAT skin at 54 — while still looking 54 🫶

Our team attended an intimate private dinner last night celebrating our 11 year partnership with DMK Australia & New Zealand 🤍💫
In our business it isn’t just “a retail product” to us.
There are thousands of ranges and equally as many approaches to skin.
We never cared about “what’s in” - our focus has always been and will always be - what’s right for the skin.
We have been so fortunate this entire time to have one business developer and educator - rozimaclean.dmk - and she is a very big part of the success we’ve had over the past 11 years changing lives with DMK.
So much passion, dedication, education and commitment to constant learning. And Rozita has been an example that is hard to find in this industry.
Thank you for 11 years together.
We love you xx

Post treatment hives 😫
Is this normal post micro needling - or did something go wrong?
It’s actually more common than you might think.
Mast cell activation is part of the healing process and they release histamine.
Some won’t notice - but some people’s immune response is more dramatic by nature.
And some temporary changes like recent viruses, heightened stress, hormonal fluctuations or medications can also change how your skin responds to treatments.
Always let us know if this is normal for you - or if it happens suddenly. way we can help you through it….
Love,
Team HÜD
