Did you even know it was Reconciliation Week?

Because for a lot of us, reconciliation isn’t just one week. It’s everyday life.

It’s being proud of who you are and where you come from. It’s carrying culture with you everywhere you go.
It’s also being exhausted having to explain racism, history and lived experiences over and over again.

As a proud Aboriginal woman, these slides were just my own personal reflection on what “All In” means to me this year.

The truth is, racism still exists. Progress can feel slow. But I can also see change happening and that gives me hope.

Real reconciliation starts with education, listening, allyship and action, not just reposting a tile once a year. 🤎

So take the time to learn.
Have conversations.
Support Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander voices and businesses.
And keep showing up.

Because reconciliation should never stop at one week.

Today is deeply personal for me. 🤎

My great grandmother was part of the Stolen Generations, and my grandmother grew up being closely watched and taught to be “white” in order to fit into a world that tried to erase culture, identity and connection.

National Sorry Day is more than a date on the calendar. It’s a reminder of the pain Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families have carried for generations, and why listening, learning and truth-telling matter so much.

Take some time today to understand the history, sit with the truth, and honour the strength of those who survived it. 🖤💛❤️

Client spotlight: 🤎

Not only is she f****** stunning, she’s talented, literally a lifesaver (paramedic) and one of my absolute besties.

I’ve known Tania for over 10 years now and in that time I’ve had the honour of painting her beautiful face more times than I can remember 🥹

Honestly, I’d be jealous if Tania was your bestie too because she is literally THE GOAT.

Go check out her beautiful jewellery range It’s to die for (and she just went to Paris Fashion Week with her newest collection, no biggie) ✨

A more nostalgic you 🤎

Narissa Creative Studio has always been about more than just content.
It’s about creating experiences that feel something.
Whether that’s through makeup, branding, content or storytelling.

After 18 years as a makeup artist and creative, I’ve learnt that people don’t just remember how something looked — they remember how it made them feel. That belief has shaped everything I create.

After a lot of growth behind the scenes, I wanted my branding to reflect the direction I’m moving in creatively — warm, editorial, nostalgic and intentional.

This is the new era of Narissa Creative Studio.
Still me… just more refined.

Makeup. Content. Brand. Storytelling.
Made to feel like memories in the making. 🤎

Stop scrolling for a second and read this. This might be the virtual hug you needed today 🤍

I’ve realised lately social media can feel like a world of perfection, rainbows and unicorns…a curated fairytale in the meta world just for the double tap.

And while the online world helps pay my bills, promoting a business and sharing a personal life are two very different things.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I try to share the good, the hard and the messy. Not for clout, but because I want to be one of those people that reminds you…you are not alone.

And honestly? Don’t believe everything you see online.

This photo might look polished, calm, put together. But what you don’t see is the broken sleep, the tears, the stress, the mental load, coming off antidepressants, motherhood, bills, and life doing what life does.

You just wouldn’t know by a photo. So don’t forget to pick up the phone. Send the text. Check in on your people (even if I don’t reply straight away 😅). Come back to reality. Come back to real connection.

Also, can we talk about finding your people…your glam squad ✨
My hairdresser and brow queen probably think they’re just doing their job, but these tiny pockets of baby-free self care have genuinely calmed my nervous system this week. A few hours to breathe, reset and feel like me again.

And yes, looking good can help you feel good too.

So here’s a virtual hug from me to you.

Be grateful. Don’t listen to the silly thoughts. Be gentle with yourself. Life is short.

Let’s live it up a little 💁🏽‍♀️

If this landed for you, leave a 🤍 so another mum or woman scrolling late at night sees this too.

A little pause to rest and reset 🤍
I’ll be taking a break from makeup bookings from 24 April – 7 June, while still working full-time at (go check us out)

In between, we’ll be celebrating our engagement, and somehow I’ll also have a one-year-old 🥹 I really want to soak in this season.

Thank you for always supporting my little business so beautifully. Bookings reopen 8 June ✨

Well…just like that, it’s been 6 months!!
Part-time…kinda…basically full-time 🤪 with

It’s taken a few years, but I truly feel like I’ve found my forever, my home, my career, my people…my Village.

And honestly, it feels like we’re only just getting started. I can’t wait to see more and more women walk through these doors and become part of this beautiful community.

It’s been such a pleasure working alongside you all (and yes…some pretty incredible bosses 🫶🏽).

Juggling motherhood, my own business, and this role hasn’t always been easy, but the support and flexibility I’ve been given is something I’ll forever be grateful for, thank you Ciara & Kathleen 🥹🩷

I genuinely love what I do, and I feel so lucky to work with the most beautiful clients every day!

P.S. For those that don’t know, I’m the Social Media & Marketing Manager behind The Village. I do all the socials, graphic design, photography, videography, occasional baby holding 🤭 and I’ll also be sharing some of my artwork in the space… coming this Friday!
