Fast beauty might actually be creating demand for exactly what it has left behind.
I’m not anti technology, biohacking or advanced treatments. Innovation has a place. But trends move. Foundations don’t.
And as education becomes increasingly centred around what’s popular right now, the knowledge OG therapists take for granted is becoming increasingly valuable.
Because eventually the modality changes, the machine gets replaced and the buzzword loses its buzz.
But you still need to know how to treat.
Old-school doesn’t automatically mean better. But there’s a difference between something being old and something being foundational.
And foundations survive trends.
I unpack this in full in my latest Substack. Read the full article via the link in my bio.
Great facial massage isn’t just about the moves you know.
It’s how you use your body, your breath, your touch and your presence while you deliver them.
Small shifts in the way you work can completely change the way a treatment feels under your hands AND to the person receiving it.
This is the philosophy behind Fascia First™.
Less performing a sequence. More learning how to feel, respond and work with what’s actually beneath your hands.

OG Beauty Baddies were built different. 😂
We learnt electrolysis by literally inserting an electrified probe into a hair follicle using our own two fu***ng eyes as guidance.
No zoom. No fancy tech. Just eyesight, a steady hand and the confidence to send it. 😂
And now we’re sitting on decades of knowledge, experience and stories, telling ourselves that making a 30-second Reel is “too hard.”
Babe.
You’ve done harder things before lunch.
The industry needs what you know.
Post the fu***ng content.
There’s a subculture within our industry that has completely weaponised the word “holistic.”
They’ve decided what holistic should look like,
how a holistic practitioner should treat,
what they should believe,
what products they should use and even
what choices they should make for their own body.
And if you don’t fit that version?
Apparently you’re not holistic enough.
Bu****it.
Holistic isn’t an aesthetic.
It isn’t a belief system.
And it certainly isn’t a moral hierarchy where the most “natural” practitioner wins.
It’s an approach to treating someone as a whole person rather than a collection of isolated symptoms.
What I choose to put on my skin or in my own body does not negate my ability to consider my client’s nervous system, emotional state, physical body, environment and individual needs when they’re in my treatment room.
And perhaps the greatest irony is shaming another practitioner while claiming to represent “holistic” care.
You don’t own the word holistic.
And someone doesn’t have to perform your version of it to practise holistically.

The OG beauty therapist might actually be going extinct.
Not because Gen Z is the problem.
Because the environment that created us doesn’t really exist in the same way anymore.
We weren’t just taught beauty therapy. We lived it. Years of clients, case studies, different modalities, uncomfortable conversations, mistakes and constant variables eventually became instinct.
That’s the part I can’t stop thinking about.
You can pass down knowledge. You can teach standards. But can you actually pass down wisdom that was earned through experience?
Or does the next generation need the environment to develop it for themselves?
Because if that environment no longer exists, what happens to the intuition, adaptability and human art of beauty therapy that came from it?
I unpacked this in my latest Substack:
Are We Witnessing the Extinction of the OG Beauty Therapist?
Read it via the link in my bio. I’d genuinely love to hear from both OGs and Gen Z on this one.
What do you think can be taught, and what can only ever be lived?

Honestly, the ’80s & ’90s had absolutely no business calling half of this s**t children’s entertainment. 😂
We were handed a VHS, emotionally attached to a character and then watched them die, leave or absolutely destroy us.
Character building? Trauma response? Empath training?
Who fu***ng knows. 😂
OG Baddies, comment below with the movie that absolutely DESTROYED your emotions as a kid.
Let’s see which one caused the most collective damage. 👇😂
You didn’t spend 20+ years in this industry just to take what you know with you.
The skills. The standards. The instincts. The s**t you can’t learn from a 30-second tutorial.
This industry doesn’t need more noise. It needs the OGs to start sharing what they know.
And that knowledge doesn’t have to only make you money when your hands are on a client.
It’s IP. It’s teachable. And it can become an income stream of its own.
I’m going to show you how and it will be easier than trying to connect to the internet at 2am whilst your parents are asleep 🥴🫣
If you know, you KNOW. 😂
We were out until 3am and back in the treatment room at 9, running entirely on Berocca, questionable decisions and Enya.
No content strategy. No personal brand. No ring light.
And somehow we built careers, loyal clientele and a f**kload of knowledge along the way.
OG Baddie, you’ve done harder things than be perceived on the internet and figuring out what and how to post.
Come on! 🙄
