A small update to our fees from 1 October

From 1 October 2026, card surcharges will no longer be able to be passed on to patients, meaning the cost of EFTPOS processing will be absorbed by the practice and individual doctors.

After careful consideration, we have decided not to increase our consultation fees at this time.

We will continue with our current fees and review them next year, taking into account the actual cost of EFTPOS processing along with the overall costs of running the practice.

We appreciate your ongoing support of Rotem Medical and look forward to continuing to provide high-quality care to our community.

Hay fever season is here — and it can affect more than just your nose.

Sneezing, a blocked or runny nose, itchy eyes and post-nasal drip can make it harder to fall asleep, cause restless nights and leave you feeling tired and foggy the next day.

For children, teenagers and adults alike, poorly controlled hay fever can have a real impact on sleep, concentration, energy and day-to-day wellbeing.

The good news is that there are a range of treatment options, and the right approach can depend on your symptoms, triggers and how much they are affecting your daily life.

At Rotem Medical, Dr Linnie has a special interest in allergies and can help assess your symptoms and develop a management plan suited to you and your family.

If hay fever is keeping you or your child awake at night, it may be time to get on top of it this spring. 🌸

**Why do we offer aesthetic medicine at Rotem Medical? **

Because looking after your health is about more than what happens when you’re unwell.

As a family practice, we care for our patients through so many different stages of life — from preconception, pregnancy and raising a family, to the changes that come with ageing.

And sometimes, that includes wanting to feel a little more confident in the way you look and feel.

We believe aesthetic medicine can have a place alongside good medical care — when it is approached thoughtfully, safely and with realistic expectations.

That’s why we offer medical aesthetic treatments within the familiar environment of Rotem Medical, with the same focus on professional medical care, safety and your individual goals.

There’s no pressure to change the way you look. No expectation to “fix” something that isn’t broken.

Sometimes it’s simply about looking a little more refreshed, maintaining your skin as it changes, or doing something for yourself.

We love that our patients can come to a place they already know and trust for their family’s healthcare — and, when appropriate, also explore medical aesthetic options with us.

"Because caring for the whole family also means caring for you."

We’ll be sharing more of our aesthetic services over the coming months — always with a focus on thoughtful, medically-led care and natural results.

From planning a family, to growing one — and every stage in between.

At Rotem Medical, we believe family medicine begins long before a baby arrives.

Whether you’re thinking about starting a family, preparing for pregnancy, navigating contraception and reproductive health, or welcoming a new baby into your life, our GPs are here to support you through each stage.

And once your little one arrives, we’re here for them too — from childhood and adolescence through to adulthood, alongside the health and wellbeing of the whole family.

As a family practice, we value the continuity that comes from having a trusted GP who can care for you, your children and your family over time.

From pre-conception care and pregnancy, to newborn checks, childhood health, women’s health, preventative care and everything in between — we’re here for the whole family.

Caring for you after your baby arrives

The weeks and months after having a baby can be beautiful, exhausting, overwhelming — and sometimes all of these at once.

While so much attention naturally goes towards your newborn, it’s important to remember that you are recovering too.

At Rotem Medical, we offer ongoing postpartum care to support you through this important stage of life — not just at your routine 6-week check, but whenever you need us.

We can help with:
🤍 Recovery after pregnancy and birth
🤍 Breastfeeding concerns and feeding difficulties
🤍 Contraception and future family planning
🤍 Pelvic health and concerns following birth
🤍 Fatigue, sleep, mood and emotional wellbeing
🤍 Postnatal mental health
🤍 Returning to exercise, work and your usual routines
🤍 Ongoing women’s health and preventative care

Whether this is your first baby or your third, every postpartum experience is different. There is no “right” way to feel or recover, and you don’t have to wait until something feels seriously wrong before asking for help.

Your health matters too.

We’re here to care for you, your baby and your growing family — through the newborn days and well beyond. 🌿

Could something you’re eating be affecting your breastfed baby? It’s a common worry.

Before removing foods from your diet, it’s important to seek guidance from a health professional. They can help you identify whether there’s a clear pattern and ensure you and your baby continue receiving the nutrition you need.

A future without cervical cancer starts with prevention, and cervical screening is one of the most effective ways to protect your health 💜

If you're a woman aged 25 to 74, you only need a Cervical Screening Test every 5 years. You can choose the screening option that suits you best: a doctor or nurse can collect your sample, or you can self-collect using a simple vaginal swab.

Even having just one Cervical Screening Test can provide significant protection compared to never being screened.

This start a conversation about cervical screening with the women in your life.

💛 R U OK?

Today is a reminder that a simple question can open the door to an important conversation.

Sometimes, “Are you OK?” is all it takes to let someone know that they’re seen, they’re cared for, and they don’t have to carry everything alone.

But checking in doesn’t have to happen just once a year.
Make the call. Send the text. Sit down for a coffee. Ask again.

And if someone says they’re not OK, you don’t need to have all the answers. Sometimes, simply listening is the most helpful thing you can do.

At Rotem, we believe good healthcare starts with taking the time to listen — not just to symptoms, but to the person behind them. 🌿

R U OK?
Ask the question. Start the conversation.

A valuable afternoon of learning at Rotem Medical 💙

We were privileged to have Jen from Lipoedema Australia join us to educate our GPs about lipoedema — from recognising the early signs to understanding the importance of timely diagnosis and holistic management.

Lipoedema is often under-recognised and can be mistaken for obesity or other conditions. As GPs, increasing our awareness means we can listen, identify concerns earlier, provide appropriate support and help patients access the care they need.

Thank you Jen for sharing your knowledge and helping us continue to improve the care we provide to our community.
