Clean sectioning is one of the most important parts of a healthy extension install and it’s often the part clients never see👀
Proper sectioning ensures:
• Even weight distribution
• No twisting or tension
• Natural movement
• Hair can shed normally
• Comfortable installs
Most extension damage doesn’t come from the extensions themselves, it comes from poor sectioning, too much tension, or using a method that isn’t suited for the client’s hair type.
For fine hair especially, precision matters more than anything👌🏻✨
This is the foundation of every install I do🫶🏻💗
Hair should never behave like this‼️
This client previously had keratin-bonded extensions installed. Keratin itself is not the problem, and when installed correctly, it can be a beautiful method.
What you’re seeing here happens when keratin bonds are twisted during installation, overheated, or fused too tightly for fine hair. When that happens, tension can become locked into the natural strand. Over time, the hair is unable to move or shed freely, which can cause it to stretch and recoil😱Unfortunately, creating that “bungee cord” effect when the bond is released.
This isn’t healthy elasticity, and pain or prolonged tightness after an install is never normal.
The most important part of any extension method isn’t the bond —it’s safe placement, appropriate tension, and choosing a method that suits the client’s hair type.
Fine hair often thrives with gentler options that allow natural movement, healthy shedding, and zero discomfort. I wanted to pop on here with a little update as we move into the busiest time of the year.
My last working day before the holidays will be December 19th, and as we approach that date, my availability is becoming very limited. If you’ve been thinking about booking in— whether for maintenance, a fresh install, or a consultation — now is the time to secure your spot.

I’ll be taking a limited number of new consultations between now and December 19th. If you’d like to explore nano extensions, please book soon as these spots will fill quickly.

After the 19th, my books will be closed for the holidays and moving into the new year. I will reopen them as my client base shifts, but for now, I’m creating space to rest, recharge, and be fully present with my family during this season.
