What’s actually happening under an attachment?

A canine is staged for a clean rotation.

This is what happens on any rounded surface under compression without a flat stop to redirect the force: it squeezes out from under the load, the aligner lifts, and the force resolves apically — the same way a watermelon seed shoots out from between two fingers instead of just rotating in place.
