🐐💕 LOVE IS IN THE AIR… IT’S MATING SEASON! 💕🐐

Have you spotted our nanny wagging her tail like there’s no tomorrow? 👀😂 That little tail wag is known as “flagging” and it’s one of the classic signs that a female goat may be coming into season and ready to mate!

🐐 So, what are the signs to look out for?

💕 Tail wagging (flagging) – She’ll wag her tail rapidly, especially when a billy is nearby.

💕 Extra chatty – More bleating than usual, calling out to the boys! 📣

💕 Flirting with the lads – She may seek out the billy, stand near him or show extra interest in him.

💕 Restless behaviour – Pacing, being more active or seeming a little unsettled.

💕 Physical changes – The v***a may become swollen or pinker, sometimes with a little clear discharge.

💕 Standing to be mounted – This is one of the strongest signs she’s receptive to mating.

Goats are seasonal breeders, with many does coming into season during autumn and winter. Their heat cycle typically lasts around 18–21 days, and standing heat often lasts only a short time.

And our girl here? Well, that tail is certainly doing plenty of talking! 🤣🐐💃

It started innocently enough… “A goat will be lovely,” I said.
“she's so cute,” I said.
“How much trouble could she possibly be?” 🤦‍♀️😂

Fast forward… and now I can identify them by their bleats, have conversations with them, take more photos of goats than people, and somehow every day revolves around what the goats are doing! 🐐❤️

I don’t need therapy…
I need MORE GOATS! 😂🐐

At this point, I’m pretty sure the goats own me… I just pay the bills! 🤣
