Another busy week at Pink Academy! 💗

This week our learners have been building their skills, confidence and creativity — and we’ve loved seeing their progress!

💗 Our students received their new Pink Academy uniforms
💇‍♀️ We practised hairstyling, plaiting and twisting techniques
💅 We learnt about cuticle care and how to safely and correctly remove cuticles
🎃 And with Halloween getting closer, we got creative with some Halloween-inspired nail art!

For us, practical learning is about so much more than just nails and beauty. It’s about following instructions, working safely, developing fine motor skills, communicating with others, building confidence and being proud of what you achieve.

And that’s exactly what we’ve seen this week. 🥰

Pink Academy is offering a work experience opportunity for someone who would love to gain hands-on experience within a small, supportive alternative education setting.

This could be ideal if you’re:
✨ Thinking about becoming a teacher or tutor
✨ Studying education, teaching or a related course
✨ Looking to gain experience working with young people
✨ Interested in SEND or Alternative Provision
✨ Wanting to build your CV before applying for further study or employment

You’ll have the opportunity to shadow our tutors, support learners, help prepare activities and resources, and see what goes into delivering engaging education in a smaller learning environment.

Thank you to the Manchester Evening News for coming to Pink Academy and, most importantly, for listening to our young people and their families.

This article explains exactly why Pink exists.

Not every young person thrives in mainstream education. Sometimes they need a smaller environment, a different way of learning and someone to believe that they can do it.

Beauty and nails shouldn’t be dismissed as “just a hobby”. For many young people they can be the beginning of a real career, confidence, independence and a future they can actually see themselves in.

We have the facilities, the qualifications, the staff and young people who want to learn. What we need are funding routes that allow them to access it.

With so many young people already becoming NEET across Greater Manchester, we believe smaller provisions need to be part of the conversation.

We are incredibly proud of our students for speaking so openly about their experiences. 💗

We might only be small, but hopefully our voices are starting to be heard.

Pink Academy offers a smaller, nurturing option for young people aged 16+ with an EHCP who want to continue their education in a supportive setting.

Places are subject to EHCP consultation and appropriate Local Authority funding.

It’s 1st September and we are SO excited to welcome our students back to Pink Academy tomorrow! 🎀✨

We’ve been very busy behind the scenes over the summer. We’ve been working on some really exciting things for Pink, planning for the year ahead and even giving the Academy a little glow-up ready for everyone coming back. 👀💕

We honestly cannot wait to see our returning students and, just as importantly, welcome all the new faces joining the Pink family this year. 🥹🌸
