CanDo Enterprises

It was a pleasure to welcome the team from PRISM Leadership and Change Consulting to CanDo recently.

We love having the opportunity to share the work we do here at CanDo Enterprises. From handcrafted products to creating lasting impact through meaningful training and employment opportunities for our vision impaired community.

During their visit Louis highlighted the process involved with manufacturing our castile soap. Thank you for taking the time to visit and learn more about our work.

We really hope you enjoyed your goodie bags as Louis had great fun preparing them for you all!

Here at CanDo Enterprises, we are always mindful of our waste, on Friday we found a meaningful way to give some of our surplus a second purpose.

We had a collection of soap off-cuts that, rather than going to waste, we repurposed and prepared for donation. The soap was donated to support a local women’s refuge and a men’s homeless shelter.

It’s a simple example of how surplus can be put to good use — reducing waste while supporting our community. ♻️💚

For us, it’s about making the most of what we have and finding practical ways to create social value along the way.

Do the ingredients used to produce scented candles truly matter? The answer to that is yes…

As candle season approaches we would like to draw attention to the health risks associated with specific conventional scented candles.

Mass produced perifin wax candles contain undisclosed fragrance, and within fragrance there can be endorphin disruptors, carcinogens & allergens.

When you light a candle you’re not just liberating fragrance chemicals into the air they attach to house dust & deposit on the surfaces of your home.

It is recommended to seek products with a fully transparent ingredient list & avoid vague “fragrance” labels.

Monday morning stocktake with Orlaith

At the beginning of the year Orlaith took on the responsibility of our weekly stocktake. It is a very important job as she will then make us aware of what products we need to make next, she also updates our till system which is connected to our online store indicating if something is out of stock etc.

This task has given Orlaith a space to practice her numeracy skills when counting products, her till operating skills for updating the system & and her communication skills by informing us of what products need to be focused on that week.
