The Painted Pixie

Casper Farms Fall Fest was so much fun- thanks to everyone who came out! This was my 3rd year in a row & I loved being a (small)part of it💕

I’m all painted up and ready for Casper Farms Fall Fest today, rain or shine! This is the only Fall event I have booked this year (I think last Fall I did something crazy like seven events plus parties😳). I’ll be there painting faces from 12-4pm. Hope to see you out there- bring the whole family!

Football and Volleyball and Soccer, OH MY!

I’m back at it painting custom sports balls! I opened my orders back up on October 1st after taking the Summer off & already have a 6week waitlist 😳. You guys are gonna keep me busy this season, I can already tell! I love all the fun requests coming my way!

Tag a parent who needs a special ball for their Senior. Can’t wait to show you some of these!

Fifth and sixth graders each made a 3D Mondrian-inspired Cubism Pyramid with primary colors & I was able to get their display up in the hall in time for Meet The Teacher Night last week. My favorite part is hearing the kids’s “ohhs and ahhs” in the hallway over their brother or sister’s art when they walk by.

Have I introduced you to our Art Room Class Pet? Her name is Lucy Goosey and she lives on my desk & the kids LOVE her! She changes outfits occasionally and recently she wanted to dress up as Bob Ross and do some painting🤣. Stay tuned because I have heard rumors that she’s about to change into a pretty sweet Bills costume soon!

**ATTENTION SENIOR PARENTS**

It’s October, and as promised, my Custom Sports Ball Orders are officially open again!

Here are some FAQ’s:

HOW MUCH ARE THE CUSTOM HAND-PAINTED SPORTS BALLS?

•Basketballs, Volleyballs, Soccer Balls, and Footballs start at $165 (this includes the athlete’s name, number, graduating class, school name and mascot. Bling or extra logos/ text is an extra charge). The cost of the ball is included in this price. If you provide a special game ball to be painted on, I will lower the price accordingly.
• Teacher Jeans/ Senior Jeans/ Concert Jean Jackets are also available. Price starts at $125 (depending on how many things I’m painting and how detailed, etc.)
• I will not be offering hockey pucks this year- too tiny, too many coats of paint, too much of a pain to paint on a slick surface. Golf balls are also too small for me to paint on. (I’m sure Etsy has some shops that would be happy to engrave one for you!). Tennis balls are too fuzzy and pickleballs are too… hole-y.🤪

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

•Wait time starts at 3 weeks
•I will only be accepting 3 orders per week. Once the three spots are filled, the waitlist begins.
• Any rush orders (less than 3 weeks) will have an additional fee of $50 per ball added on, (more if you need it in less than a week). Last year I had so many “I need this by Friday” orders. I am a mom of 4 & recently started a new job, so I will no longer be able to guarantee that I can accommodate those last minute orders. Thank you for your understanding.

HOW DO I PAY?

• I accept cash or Venmo at the time of pickup- I want to make sure you are happy with the item first. No deposit necessary at this time.
• I do offer a discount to any local SJRS or NDHS families. I also offer a discount if you are ordering more than four team balls at a time.
• Local orders only, I am not offering shipping at this time.

So, all that to say if you have a Senior Night coming up, contact me today to get on my waitlist! Tag a Senior parent below 👇 who needs to see this post. (LOTS of examples of my work on my page!)

I’ll be at Meet the Teacher Night tonight at SJRS. Stop by and say hello and come see the new Art Room! Hope to see you there.

Amazon Classroom Wishlist Unboxing - Part 3. I received so many generous gifts for the art room from my Amazon wishlist that I had to make a THIRD post! (This was from 3 weeks ago before school started… it’s been a whirlwind ever since🫣). Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your thoughtful donations and support!

I think there’s a term for this: Dopamine Dressing… spreading color and JOY wherever you go, even if it means you get a few funny looks! It’s contagious & I’m convinced the students can feel the energy shift when they walk in my room. 💕 As our principal says every morning on announcements “make it a good day, or not, the choice is YOURS!”

The Art Teacher takes on NYC… had to bring a tiny sketchbook with me, of course! Tell me all the things we need to do and see (and eat!). We have lived in NY for 6+ years now and I’ve never made it in to the city!
