Five years that physically feels like 10, but mentally somehow like 2. How something can feel like forever and also a blink of an eye all at once.

This has been one of the biggest journeys of my life — and it still continues. I love the people I share this space with, and it’s taken five years to build that.

The words that keep surfacing lately are: I’m ready to stop surviving and start thriving. I truly feel like this is our year.

Learning everything on your own is scary, and owning a business is not for the weak. If I could tell my 30-year-old self anything, it would be this: protect your peace first, and never underestimate the beauty of building slow. It’s worth it.

To all my fellow stylists out there, this one is for u.

Lot of conversations in my head today with different things that came up with other stylists/clients/situations 🤍 i felt like pouring it out to share, to relate or maybe to say something someone needed to hear today.

When you work in an industry built on making other people feel their best, it’s easy to put yourself second. That’s kind of the job, right? I don’t resent that. But after 15 years, I’ve learned there has to be a line—how much I pour from my cup while I’m busy filling everyone else’s. Some weeks I overgive and forget those boundaries. Most weeks, my cup gets refilled by the amazing clients I’m lucky enough to have.

And every now and then, someone comes along who just wants to grab that cup and dump it out. Guard that damn cup. No ticket price is worth more than your peace.

When that one cup is emptied, I can’t show up for the family I go home to or the team I lead.And those cups outside of work we still need to fill—They matter even more. Don’t pour freely where there’s no respect. Some will say you’re “too much” or “all about you.” That’s okay. I’ve learned to value myself— Im proud to say that. If you’re in my small circle, it’s because we refill each other.

There are plenty of cups in this world—go find the ones that pour back.
