I often share this analogy of carrying buckets versus building a pipeline, and I cannot stop thinking about how perfectly it describes our industry.
Most hairstylists are phenomenal bucket carriers.
We work.
We get paid.
We want more money?
We carry another bucket.
Iāve done it for YEARS.
Thereās nothing wrong with that model, until itās your only model.
Iām building my pipeline while I continue doing the work I love.
Thatās the difference.
And Iām looking for hairstylists who want to learn how.
DM me āPIPELINEā and Iāll explain what Iām building.

And weāre OFF! āļøš“
You know what I might be most excited about?
The people.
There are friends in this business that I donāt get to see nearly enoughāand today we finally get to hug them instead of seeing their faces on a screen. š¤
I originally stepped into this world because of products.
I never expected it to give me friendships, mentors, community, travel, personal growth and people who genuinely want to see each other succeed.
That part has been one of the sweetest surprises.
Florida, weāre coming for you. ā¤ļø
WELLNESS TIP OF THE DAYšæ
If you spend your day behind the chair, when was the last time you thought about what your body is doing while youāre working?
We stand in some WEIRD positions. š
One hip stuck out.
Shoulders creeping toward our ears.
Neck bent forward.
Bent forward because you didnāt pump the chair up.
And sometimes we stay that way for hours.
Hereās something simple to try today:
Between clients, take 60 seconds and reset your body.
Drop your shoulders.
Roll them back a few times.
Gently move your neck from side to side.
Stretch your hands and wrists.
Stand evenly on both feet.
Take one slow, deep breath.
And for goodness sake, drink some water!
Thatās it.
You donāt need workout clothes. You donāt need to leave the salon. And you donāt need 30 minutes you donāt have.
Itās just one minute of intentionally noticing the body that works so hard for you all day.
I spent a lot of years thinking discomfort was simply part of being a hairdresser.
Now Iām much more interested in what I can do before my body starts yelling at me.
Try the 60-second reset today and tell me if you notice a difference by the end of your workday. š

Apparently Iām not just packing for one trip.
Iām packing for TWO trips. š
Iām heading out of town for our good friendsā wedding, coming home, and then turning around and traveling out to Florida for our annual convention. š
So right now my bedroom looks like my suitcases have exploded in it.
And while Iām thinking about clothes, shoes, toiletries and everything else I need to remember, Iāve also been thinking about something I didnāt always plan for:
How am I going to take care of my BODY while Iām gone?
Travel can mean different beds, long periods of sitting, different food, less movement, hauling luggage around and being completely out of your normal routine.
And at this stage of life, my body has absolutely no problem letting me know when it doesnāt appreciate my choices. š
So Iām trying to plan for that too.
Movement.
Water.
Sleep.
Stretching.
Supplements.
Making thoughtful choices when I eat.
And yes, fasting is still one of the easiest habits for me to take anywhere.
Iām learning that taking care of myself doesnāt start when something hurts.
It starts with paying attention to the little things I can do before my body starts yelling at me.
And considering the amount of traveling Iām about to doā¦
Iām listening. šš¤
