We live in a a very high stress, fast paced, head forward society. (Shocking, I know)
This has so many symptoms in the nervous system that are felt in the musculoskeletal system.
Some of those symptoms are seen above, and the problem is too many people view it as totally normal.
Just because something is commonly seen does not make it normal.

Have you been wondering if it’s time for your child to see a neurologically based chiropractor?
Here are 5 signs that signal “it’s time!”
1. They don’t sleep well. Sleep is one of the very foundations of health, and the number one way we recover and grow in our youth years. If your child has trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or sleeping in general, this is a major signal to dial in their nervous system.
2. Focus in school was a major struggle this year. Having issues with focus, with or without a formal diagnosis, often has roots in a nervous system that is stuck in survival mode. The system feels unsafe, and therefore is focusing on all the distractions instead of the task.
3. Frequently agitated. Another symptom of a nervous system stuck in survival mode, getting agitated (triggered) easily is a sign that the nervous system is trying to fight.
4. They want better performance in sports. One of the best ways to enhance performance is to enhance proprioception: the body’s ability to move in space. We work specifically on this ability in and out of office to dial in the nervous system.
5. You want to see them fully thrive. Helping to boost a rundown nervous system, regulate a dysregulated one, or unwind a pent-up system are all ways to optimize function and health. If you feel like something is “just off”, that’s usually a good indicator that something is indeed just off with the nervous system.

Want to be the healthiest person in the room? Learn to build a “healthy home.”
We define a healthy as having four walls, and a roof of awareness over top.
The walls are:
Nourishment: what goes into our body, does it fuel and energize us, is it easily absorbed, and does it equip our bodies to adapt and thrive.
Movement: everyday movement that brings us joy, grows us, is goal oriented (pr, amount of steps, amount of time, etc). We were made to move, so we need to do this everyday in some way.
Recovery: more than just an ice bath or a sauna, this is focused on setting ourselves up for the best sleep possible (our body’s #1 way to recover). Routines, red light/red light glasses, magnesium, dark rooms, and the other walls are crucial here.
Community: the wall of health that is most forgotten. Your tribe. People to laugh with, cry with, grow with, encourage, and be encouraged. We are communal beings who all crave healthy community.

Your nervous system prioritizes one thing: safety.
That’s why in times of high stress, you don’t feel yourself.
You don’t breathe the same way, sleep the same way, digest your food the same way, or even think the same way.
When your nervous system is stressed, it prioritizes survival over everything else.
This is how we were created: to have an adaptive nervous system that can survive almost anything and also have the ability to thrive.
But here’s the catch…
You can’t be in survival mode and thriving mode at the same time.
Which is why when your nervous system is stuck in that survival mode you don’t feel yourself.
Your nervous system doesn’t feel safe, and so it does everything it can to try and keep you safe - even at the expense of some vital functions (sleep, digestion, focus, energy, etc).
This isn’t a problem sporadically. But when it becomes your life, that’s when the issues happen.
Not sleeping for months, having constant digestion issues, feeling nervous or anxious, never being able to slow down your mind.
It’s not your fault, it’s your nervous system doing its best to help you survive.
It won’t change until it feels safe. And when it feels safe, it will be able to thrive.
Our job is to help your nervous system feel safe, have an increased capacity to adapt, and give you the space and strategies to regulate your nervous system.
Everything in the space: from the lighting, to the face blankets, to the music, to the style of chiropractic care - is designed to help your nervous system feel safe and begin to heal itself.
That’s where the magic happens. That’s when the healing happens. When your nervous system finally feels safe enough to adapt and thrive.

We were all created with a nervous system that is intelligent, adaptive, and complete.
Our nervous system is constantly sending signals and signs to inform us when and where we need change.
Are you paying attention to them?
Newborns are so responsive to chiropractic care, and give these signals so beautifully.
Some of the changes seen immediately are:
-less tension - think from rock to pillow in tone
-better latching and feeding
-more calm/less fussy
-improved sleeping (duration and depth)
-more consistent bowel movements
Changes we see with continuous care:
-hitting milestones on time (regardless of most birth complications)
-more consistent eating habits
-regular bowel patterns
-regular sleep schedules
Neurologically based chiropractic care works because it addresses the root cause of so many symptoms: nervous system regulation.
It’s beautiful and works for all ages, no matter how young.
