Sometimes, 'doing the most good' looks like a hot meal, a safe place to sleep, a community of compassion, a second chance...all of which is found at The Salvation Army's Purdue Center of Hope in The Salvation Army Memphis ❤️

Today, I had the absolute privilege of visiting one of the most impactful women shelters in the nation. With every room passed and every story told, I was reminded that these families are more than a statistic – every woman has a story, a struggle, a dream, and a future worth fighting for.

The employees of this Salvation Army branch, such as Ms. Amy Speropoulos, are turning statistics of homelessness and substance abuse into success stories. Housing placement, employment assistance, recovery support, family services, counseling, and youth programs are just a few of the programs offered.
..and guess what?

It is ALL funded by the Red Kettle.

💛🦋 DFW St. Jude Walk – Hope Takes Flight 🦋💛

The butterfly is more than a beautiful sight; it was the perfect symbol to represent our theme. It serves as a reminder that, even in the hardest moments, hope can rise, spread its wings, and fly us forward.

Being part of the planning committee meant I got to see so many of the details that brought this event to life...but what I didn’t expect to see was just how much consideration & dedication each member pours into making this walk happen. Paul, Shannon, Hannah, Meghan, Sarah, and especially Nicole – thank you for inviting me onto your team and letting me be a small part of something so special. Y’all are such a beautiful reminder of the heart, the spirit, and the mission of St. Jude. Soooooo same time, same committee next year??!

The Salvation Army is not only a piece of city history, but a piece of the city's heart here in New York ❤️

It was such gracious opportunity to visit The Salvation Army’s Greater New York Divisional Headquarters, where I learned even more about the incredible mission behind an organization that has been serving communities for generations. From meeting people’s most immediate needs to walking alongside them through seasons of hardship, their mission is a beautiful reminder that service is about seeing a need...and choosing to meet it. What a blessing it was to talk about future opportunities to serve the NYC area!

socials, made my visit so special. Her warm welcome, joyful spirit, and genuine love for the work she does is contagious 🥹
